Over at the Shrine I saw this. It is too funny.

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Windows users can make these messageboxes for themselves really easily! Just paste the following into notepad and save is as “Sola Scriptura.vbs”:
strMbox = MsgBox(“An error has occured in your private interpretation!” _
&vbCR & vbCr & “Click OK to join the Catholic Church.”, _
vbCritical, “Sola Scriptura Problem”)
Set Sh = WScript.CreateObject(“WScript.Shell”)
Sh.Run “http://www.vatican.va”, 3
- and then double click on the file you’ve just made. Voila!
Interesting! Of course, a truly Catholic error message would have shown up on a Macintosh. At least that’s what Umberto Eco says. He thinks Windows is for Anglicans!
Al, many thanks for the code. (I’ll probably waste some valuable time making some up!) I’m not a programmer but worked out that you those who cut ‘n paste it will have to change the smart quotes to inch quotes to get it to work.
Oops! Quite correct, Father. Looks like the wdtprs server software converted the quotation marks somehow.
Thanks.
Father Zuhlsdorf,
ROFL!
Love it.
