Happy New Year

I wish you all a happy new year.  Many of you have helped this last year to be a real joy for me.  Thank you very much.

Let us see what good things we can accomplish together in a new Year of Salvation 2007, filled with graces and blessings!

PS: Have any good resolutions?

I need, inter alia, to

start on novel number two, and
push my Mandarin to the next step.

    What is novel #1?

  2. 4HisChurch says:

Happy New Year to you, Father. My resolutions are:

    1. Go to daily Mass, daily, if possible.
    2. Keep up with the daily morning and evening prayer through Magnificat Magazine.
    3. To remember to thank God before meals.
    4. To use daily opportunities to pray–seeing an ambulance pass by, or a car accident.

  3. dcs: And give people more ammunition? Heck no. Wait for it.

  4. 4HisChurch: Very good resolutions. You are not over-reaching.

  5. David says:

    1. To pray the Office daily.
    2. To spend more time before the Blessed Sacrament.
    3. To stop getting riled by “creative liturgy” so much!
    4. Also – to remember to tank God before meals.

  6. Mark in Spokane says:

    My resolutions:

    1) To pray the rosary more regularly.
    2) To focus more on living my faith and just reading alot about it!
    3) To better prepare myself during Mass to receive the Eucharist.
    4) To seek God’s grace to live a more virtuous life.
    5) To treasure my family each day.

  7. Bailey Walker says:

    My resolutions:

    1) Less Web surfing and blog reading and more lectio divina.
    2) More frequent Confession.
    3) More attentive and less distracted at Mass and when praying the Office and Rosary.
    4) Greater confidence in God’s infinite mercy and love.

    Happy New Year!

  8. Sidney says:

    Happy New Year, Father!

  9. Resolution #1 and only: To everyday adore God and tell Him I love Him.

I will fulfill my resolution by daily prayer, frequent adoration, and frequent confession. I will attend Mass as much as possible over and above the minimum requirement. In 2007, I intend to work really hard on fasting and abstinence-both are difficult for me.

Happy New Year, Father Zuhlsdorf! May God Bless You.

  10. Jacob says:

Father, I never realized that your biretta in your little smiley is worn so jauntily (in italics) while the rest of your face is normal. ;)

  11. Jacob: That is only when I give my “biretta tip” to folks. Otherwise, it should be pretty well squared away.

    And novel number one was?

  13. Catholic Lady says:

My resolution is to live each day as my Lord would have me live it and when it is time to die, to do so in his grace.
