Archbishop Broglio’s episcopal consecration was one of the the “star events” of the National Geographic documentary on the Vatican. Many might know him from that DVD.

  2. I take it His Excellency is an American? (is that a stupid question?)

  3. Templar says:

Yes, he’s an American. Here is the URL to his pedigree. He turns 56 next month.

    Go Cleveland!

St. Ann’s parish in Cleveland Heights will no doubt be celebrating this upcoming weekend.

  5. He also has a JCD from the greg and went through boston college. 15 years of jesuit education doesn’t seem to have hurt him too badly. ;)

  7. Ray from MN says:

It is interesting that Archbishop Broglio is now also the Titular Bishop of Amiternum. That must be because the Military Archdiocese is under canon law a different type of diocese than a closed contiguous geographic diocese within one country.

  8. Ray from MN says:

Ooops, I’m wrong. I read that wrong.

  9. Tomas Lopez says:

Before you get too excited about Abp Broglio, let me add that his territory as Apostolic Delegate included not only the Dominican Republic but also Puerto Rico, where I live. I can say from experience that liturgical disobedience abounds in all five dioceses on the island. (Yes, even Ponce!)

Let’s not be too judgemental. Have you been to Rome?
