Good news in WI

I picked up from Credo Catholic Journal this nice item:

12 January 2008
Latin Mass to be said today in Baileys Harbor Wisconsin

Those in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin will have an opportunity to attend the Traditional Latin Mass today.

BAILEYS HARBOR — The traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Wisconsin 57 in Baileys Harbor.

The Rev. Jean-Marie Moreau of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest will be the celebrant.
This will be the first traditional Latin Mass to be said in Door County in 45 years. Renewed interest in the Latin Mass is spreading rapidly since Pope Benedict XVI issued "Summorum Pontificum," which states that the "Tridentine Mass should be made possible wherever the faithful desire it."

VERY interesting!!! Does anyone know how this came about? I have gone to Mass in that parish once, and it was not a very good experience.

Was there really a large enough group requesting this, a pastor who was interested or what? I would also appreciate hearing how this went and if it is just a one time thing.

Jean-Marie Moreau is, if I’m not mistaken, the pastor of St. Mary’s Oratory in Green Bay located at St. Joseph’s Chapel, e.g. the bishop’s chapel in Green Bay. They are an extraordinary rite community. God Bless him for offering the mass in Baileys Harbor. There is a low mass and high mass offered at the Oratory already on Sunday.

Yes, all of the above is correct. I am, however, very puzzled by how it came about the Fr. went to Door county to offer Mass. As far as I understand, the pastor of this parish is not exactly excited about traditional things.
