Gli succede il Coadiutore S.E. Mons. John C. Neinstedt.
So, Archbishop Flynn retired, due to turning 75, and Archbishop Nienstedt succeeded as Saint Paul and Minneapolis Archbishop.
Archbishop Nienstedt had been serving as Coadjutor Archbishop of the same archdiocese.
