Incredible as it may seem…

Soooo…. After fleeing Kalamazoo because there was no electricity now there is no internet access at the hotel where we are assigned to stay for the conference.

Thus, I am rather handicapped in how and what I can post. For example, posting photos would be a real hassle.

The front desk told me this morning that they are working on it. They have a “process”.

I knew that Michigan has some problems with people not working, but electricity and Internet seem to be similarly challenged. Grrrrrr!

This is where Zuhlsdorf’s Law kicks in, I think.

In the meantime, last night we had the opening of this conference, Acton University, and it was very good. Fr. Robert Sirico gave a fine foundational address to set the tone for the week and responded to few questions in A spirited way.

If I can get online, and won’t have to continue to post for my phone, I will keep you informed about the doings here.
392 people from 51 countries are attending.

Nevertheless, we don’t have access and I have a deadline today for the paper… a day early this week, wouldn’t you know.

  1. Don’t worry, Father. Worry is useless. Only pray and patiently bear this cross Jesus has given you. You’re in my prayers. God bless!

    Hello Fr.Z,

Fr. Sirico either has a truly remarkable extemporaenous gift – or he’s given the same speeches enough times to have it committed to memory.

Actually, he’d tell you it’s the latter – I believe he said he realy has one long speech committed to memory, and he just belts out small chunks of it as appropriate. Either way – an inspiring speaker (and homilist).

Enjoy Acton and don’t fret much about the website. We’ll survive.

Thanks for keeping us up to date… despite the hassle. Enjoy the workshop! God bless!

  5. Trevor says:

Ohioans have been saying Michigan has problems for years…No one listens to us, though.

    :-P

C’mon, now, Michigan did just get nailed with massive storms that killed 6 people this weekend and left 350,000 without power (Fr. Z being one of them). Fr. Z, how bout you stop by my parish? I’m only two hours away and we have power.

    Phillip
