An old photo I thought I had misplaced:

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

I was blessed to be in Rome last summer. St. Peter’s is an unbelievable sight at night! Was this taken from outside the square?
Father, was this picture on the cover of a book? It seems very familiar to me.
Can this be misplaced anywhere? ;)
Wow! That belongs above the mantle, or some equal place of honor. How beautiful. Well, that settles it – we need to go back to Rome.
Wish I could be there right now. Buying my ticket for March today. Thank you, Fr. Z.
Looks as though perhaps taken from one the terrace of one the apartments that fill the top floors of the grand edifices which house the various congregations or curia of the Holy See along both sides at the top of the via della Conciliazione closest to Piazza San Pietro. Usually prelates of the rank of cardinal live in these…Father Z keeps the best of company, does he not?
Breath-taking!
Father Z,
Do you have that image in a larger version? This would make a great desktop background.
*right-click* . . . *save as* . . . voila!
It’s now my desktop wall paper!
BTW, if you set the orientation to “stretch”, it fills the screen. It’s a bit fuzzy, but that just adds to the ethereal charm!
If the photo above was a link to the high-res original, then you wouldn’t have to worry about the graininess. I think that was the gist of Josh’s hinting…… I wouldn’t be ashamed to stoop to begging the good Padre to bless us with the original. ;-)
Right click….’set as background’ looks great!
For those of us almost completely computer illiterate, thank you David for the explicit instructions regarding making this one’s desktop & how to fill the screen. A fine upgrade from the current pic one of my children selected – which I didn’t know how to change.
