    You are out of line. Be faithful to the Central Division. I hate the Twins, but if they represent the American league, they are my team.

    Gardenhire is easily the top Manager in the major leagues. The Twins play the best fundamental baseball.

    P.S. \”Yanks\” is a term of GREATEST affection for you chaps in the USA, particularly in my family. My dad was on Sword Beach on the day you all were along the coast at Omaha. We\’ll never forget it.

    Chris: Any time an English team would like to take the field in a fit of global zeal, I am sure they could be accommodated. We have any number of Little League teams which could give them a match.

    Chris, I believe the series was named after its first sponsor, the New York World. Granted, it is almost as laughable as the Lehman Brothers Series would be today…

    Christabel, using “Yank” as a term of affection for chaps in the USA is like using “Welsh” as a term of affection for chaps in the UK. It’s weird how it pleases some and offends others! :-)
