VIDEO: The Papacy of Reason: Inside the Mind of Benedict XVI

I am watching the DVD I was given in Rome, The Papacy of Reason: Inside the Mind of Benedict XVI.  Since I was in this documentary, I was given a copy.

It is really quite well made!  If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it.

I think it is available through EWTN, where it was broadcast.

Here is a small part (reduced to not great quality for the sake of faster loading) from the middle of the show, including the main section concerning liturgy.  You’ll see some famous people along with my unworthy self… Fr. Lang… Archbp. Ranjith…

Very well expressed Fr. Z. Great comments by Fr. Morerod, O.P. too. I will buy the DVD. Very Best, don Jeffry

  2. don Jeffry: The whole video is that good. It is an impressive project by the great Raphaela Schimdt, who also made one of the very best documentaries I have ever seen about Catholics in China.

Darn, it won’t play on my computer, which is new. Is it playing for everyone else?

  4. TJB says:

Father, when was this put together?

Franzjosf, try clicking “play in popup” it worked for me.

  5. Katherine Therese says:

It worked for me in popup too. Father, hearing your voice gives me a craving for one of your PODCAzTs :)

I love that comment about how for the Orthodox Church, he’s a “man after their own heart”. I feel like I’ve seen this before, but maybe it was just bits of those interviews in another show. Looks like a great documentary!

Has anyone ever told you that you speak like an Italian, Father? The way you speak with your hands makes me feel like you shouldn’t be speaking in English! (I do the same thing, it must be that European ancestry.)

  7. Sharon says:

How did you type a line through ‘great’?

  8. Lynne says:

Sharon, put strike and /strike in before and after the phrase you want to strike out…test

  9. Lynne says:

Oh dear, the carets “” didn’t come through. They must surround the tags, strike and /strike. Hope this is clear…
