   Fanta in Germany (and I suppose Italy) is a little different than in the USA. It has more juice in it and appears less orangy. Think less Orange Crush and more Orangina. Here is a link to what it looks like: http://www.germandeli.com/faor2liplbo.html

    Although the Holy Father’s predilection for the orange soda pop is well known, I wonder whether that is what he was enjoying in the picture. It looks like a sort of herbal infusion, which he may well have been drinking to soothe his throat – it sounded a bit scratchy the other day. If his throat was sore, this would militate against his drinking sugary, syrupy, carbonated beverage.

    I switched to Fanta after I read that the Holy Father claims it as his favorite soda. After reading the link that English Catholic posted, I think I’ll switch to 7-Up!

    Hey, Pope Pius X occasionally had a plug of tobacco in his mouth during Pontifical Masses as Pope…..why not have Fanta?

    A bit of orange concentrate mixed with seltzer is an appreciable substitute for those here in the US.
