A Friday evening

Pretty evening.

Tonight I have moved from

"Oh Jo, please don’t say awful; it’s slang." … during the sweet squash and curry soup I made today from an old squash about to go bad…

(the prep photos didn’t turn out for some reason)
… to…

"They put creatures in our bodies!", for the main course of perch fillets from the freezer with wilted lettuce.  Just a touch of wine to deglaze and wilt.

On to Battlestar Galactica!

I wonder what Fr. L had.

    ROFLOL!

  2. deTrinitate says:

At a monastery that I stayed in for a few months in France, they were often a similar type of squash soup. It was very delectable with French cheeses, bread and salad, in between the long hours of prayer. I would like to know how to make it but because of the silence rules never was able to ask.

  3. KK says:

Fr. L. has not had his evening meal yet. He’s still shopping at Priest’s Wearhouse.

    Fr. Z:

    A friendly advice:

With some color mixer software, on all your snow pictures you should increase the red and reduce the blue. That should make the snow look more natural, more white, less blue. I think! Whatever the fix, something should be done. (right after the liturgy is fixed – the liturgy takes priority over the photos).

  5. Pomeroy on the palouse says:

I’m not sure about Fr. L., but I think I’ll sit down with some popcorn for this “smackdown.” I don’t know who’s gonna win since we have two consummate professionals, but it sure is interesting.

On a slightly different subject, is it true that Fr. F is out of the running for Westminster?

John in Pomeroy on the Palouse, just south of Moscow on the Palouse, which is just east of Pullman on the Palouse.

  6. But Father, you tempt us with pictures. We want recipes!

Now, we do realize that you are very busy, but perhaps a WDTPRS cookbook might be nice. It need not be overly long, just the best of your clerical culinary creations.

Okay, if not a book, maybe just a few?

  7. Fr. Bailey: Invite me for a talk at your parish and I’ll cook for you and some guests, or your monastery.

  8. Father,

Put up a FrZ cookbook, and we’d buy it!

  9. Julie says:

    +

You were watching or reading “Little Women”! (don’t say ‘wretch’ either ;-) )

  10. Perhaps Fr. L will invite you down south where you can cook for him.

  11. Lindsay says:

It would be interesting to know who does the cooking at Fr. L’s. I would assume Mrs. L, but perhaps not.

  12. prof. basto says:

    Ms. Sadler,

Great idea! I’d buy it too.

  13. Athelstane says:

That all looks as positively tasty as Battlestar Galactica has been this season.

    “It stopped.”

  14. irishgirl says:

I’d like to see a Fr. Z recipe book, too-even though I can’t cook like he can!

[if it doesn’t come from a box or a can, as the saying goes]

  15. Nan says:

Interesting tactic, moving from the sartorial smackdown to the culinary.

  16. courtney says:

I’ll second that idea of a cookbook! Take care and thanks again for you work here. ciao da roma! CW

  17. A great talk and great food? Now that calls for a very special occasion such as 40 Hours or the Solemnity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
