   Be sure to stop in at the Maison des Chapelains for a chaplain’s tour around the Sanctuaries when you get to Lourdes. Ask at the reception desk for Père Georges David Byers (the American chaplain). Safe travels!

   It is appropriate that this post follows Dr. Soko’s screed. If the Nevers Cathedral had been built in our own day and age and informed by Dr. Soko’s theology, would we have such great beauty?

   Prayers for you, Philip-I hope you get to talk to the Holy Father in Rome!

   I’m so glad you got to Lourdes and Nevers! My last trip to Europe was in 2000, when I went to France. I made it a point to go to Nevers….I shed tears of joy when I saw St. Bernadette’s body!

   I went to Lourdes in 1986 and 1993-haven’t been able to get back since. But oh, how I would love to go back!

   I had no idea that Fr. Price’s heart is buried next to St. Bernadette’s shrine….if he only knew what what lay in the future for Maryknoll…oy…he’d roll in his grave.

   But, back to Philip…have a continued safe trip! We need good men like you as priests!
