    In January, 2006 our pilgrimage group from St. Stephen’s, Sacramento, had the honor and privilege of a meeting with Cardinal Arinze. He asked us to state concerns and asked us questions in turn. It was, of course, before Summorum Pontificum. He was so kind, told us to be patient with the people who put us down, and all in all made a very favorable impression on all of us. My prayers are with him during these days of reflection.

    My husband and I heard Card. Arinze speak in person right after the Catechism came out. He said then that, even if a person had to sell their shoes in order to buy one, that they should do it.
