What are these? and how do you use them?

  2. Art says:

    From top to bottom:

King oyster mushrooms – Slice them lengthwise to make a great addition to stir-fry.

Gingko fruit – Toss them into congee (rice porridge) for flavour.

I’d love to see what Fr. Z can do with these ingredients!

I’ve never seen these in markets round my area …
    (one never stops learning!)

Stop with the food posts, Father. I’m getting fatter and fatter every day! LOL.

We used to have a couple of female ginkgo trees in the neighborhood. Summer and fall would see the sidewalks choked with their fruit, which of course when trod upon released a horrible odor (they contain butyric acid). The trees were eventually uprooted, but unfortunately “they” took the male trees as well.
