    Thank you.

  2. Father Zuhlsdorf:

I just wanted to thank you for the balance you bring to your site. You move from hard-hitting pieces which have to be said, to articles on the beautiful things in life, e.g., nature, food, human friendship, love of God and the things of heaven. You have a gift for keeping things in their proper perspective. I look forward to visiting with you each day to learn of the tremendous history and scholarship of Christ’s Church. Danke Schoen!

I admit I had to look it up. Frederic Lawrence Knowles wrote two books of poetry and compiled some anthologies. He lived from 1869-1905. I don’t know what poem the quote came from; but the quote has been widely used. That’s probably why it sounded familiar.

Let me add my thanks for your site, Father. I couldn’t do without it, from serious to whimsical.

What a cool and ‘spooky’ picture, Father-I love your photography!

The moon outside my window last night had the color of cheese!

My thanks, too…and I appreciate the comments made by your readers who are so insightful, educated, and in love with Christ.

Again, I’m also thankful for this blog! We all know the dangers of the internet; but now we also know of its benefits. The poem’s title is “Memory.”
