I am sure you heard, but Card. Turkson has replaced Card. Martino at the Pont. Council for Justice and Peace.
In a rather unusual move, the Holy Father announced this viva voce at a lunch for the members of the Africa Synod.
Today is, moreover, the onomastico of the now former head of Justice and Peace, Raffaele Card. Martino.
This was like the other shoe dropping once Mario Toso was appointed Secretary of the same Council.
Dr. Robert Moynihan has an excellent article about an interview with Cardinal Turkson held in the Vatican earlier this week.

This is, I’m sure, great news, but…what exactly is the significance of Cardinal Turkson being at Justice and Peace?
Turkson will be a strong voice in opposition to the secularist ideologies of the UN funded NGOs.
The significance is not so much that Cardinal Turkson is now at the helm…but the final departure of Martino, long in coming. Next up, Kasper!
I agree. Turkson is just one of the bishops from Africa. Getting rid of Martino is the big news.
Ditto the above. Getting rid of Martino is the big news.
Next up, Kasper!
And Re!
