There will be a Solemn TLM for Midnight Mass (yes, midnight, Christmas) at Holy Innocent’s in Manhattan.

It’s been televised live every year on WPIX-TV Ch. 11 since 1948, so imagine the impact of televising a Pontifical Christmas Midnight Mass in the EF, in the media capital of the world …

I used to live in Pittsburgh and was a parishioner of St. Boniface of the Pittsburgh Latin Mass Community. Then I moved to Chicago and attend St. John Cantius or Sts. Peter and Paul in Naperville…now I am home in NJ for Christmas and God is so good of taking care of me! My sister, her boyfriend, and I are going to attend!
cdruiz – we are taking the train in to Penn Station – its only a few blocks from the church. Besides – who actually drives and parks in Manhattan anyway!!??

I wish I could stay in town for Midnight Mass (at midnight!) to sing with my parish choir. The Friars at my church celebrate the liturgy reverently and support the music program. I wish I could say the same about my mom’s parish. Maybe next year I can convince my mother stay with me for a few days and join me for midnight mass. But that would make it difficult to make it to my sister’s house for dinner and the gift exchange. I guess I’ll just offer it up. :)

I had to “settle” for the Christmas Eve Mass at 9PM at St. Boniface. Incense, Gregorian and Polyphonic Chant….it was the most beautiful Mass I have ever attended. A part of me did not want Mass to end.
There we so many people there younger than me (I’m 46) and so many children, including small children – and very little crying. My wife and two year old son are fighting illnesses at this time so they stayed home.

Now, may I suggest that you immediately begin traveling about the country saying the Traditional Mass, esp. in those dioceses who have resisted or ignored Summorum? (How are you on horseback?)
