“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Wonderful! Thank you, I love the purple finch in the wild.
Very instructive pictures. I have seen both birds but never side by side for comparison. Purple Finch makes House Finch look like a purple pretender. Is that the correct shade of purple for Advent?
Lovely pictures, Thank you Fr. Z.
So they’re purple in the Tyrian sense.
Well, hopefully the Rose Finches will visit next Sunday.
I imagine the birdies sense when there’s going to be a blizzard, so they’re ‘stocking up’ at the feeders!
Nice pics as always, Father Z!
The first picture just begs for a caption. I think the married ones would know what I mean.
“This woman that you gave me tempted me and I ate…’ “Nuh-uh, it was that stupid snake…”
“Criminy, Agnes. Birdseed again??”
Random: hopefully the Rose Finches will visit next Sunday
ROFL
Random Friar-ha, that was funny!
