“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Funny!
I’m watching that, and I’m, like, do you think??
You know, fershur …. that was, like — you know …. awesome. D’yaknow-wad-I-mean? Dude!
Yeah, but does anybody, like, like to speak like that?
Someone needs to play this for Jimmy Aiken before his next apologetic programme.
Fr Z?
Instead of, you know, showing this movie to at least five “young” people, I just, um, watched it at least 5 times. Is that ok?
Like, ineffable!
I wonder if the ancient Romans struggled in a similar way…

I have long said that if I must be wrong, I will at least be authoritatively wrong.
I was once in awe of a college classmate of mine, who was clearly the most well-informed student on the face of the globe. Then he let me in on his secret: he simply said everything as if he was sure of it. He said he’d had a teacher in high school who often corrected him– “Actually, Steve, that’s not true.” But most of the time his strategy worked.

An advisory for content is in order, with the occasional use of expletives. One could do worse.

r.j.sciurus; Of course they did. How else did we end up with the Romance languages :-D
Check out his piece “What Teachers Make.” It inspires me to go back to school and become an English teacher! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxsOVK4syxU
I laughed, thanks Father. If that’s okay?
