Post hoc ergo … wellll… maybe not so much.

From a reader:

Hi, Father. It is rather interesting that after dropping the priests from their cruises, Celebrity now has this PR nightmare of 350 people sick on their cruise ship!

And no priest to give anyone Last Rites!

My wife and 3 of the 5 kids had this “bug” over the last three weeks. Believe me when I say…. a priest would have been no help to these poor people, at least as far as their sickness is concerned. The final diagnosis was a variety of Norwalk virus, something which you want to avoid like the plague.

Hmm… actually I would say that the Plague is something that you want to avoid like the Norwalk virus…

As one with recent experience of vomiting &c. death can seem a not-unattractive option. Just the knowledge that a priest was available might have been some comfort to these people.

This clinches it: I’ll never take a cruise. Not like it was ever my #1 dream vacation anyway.

    Catholic midwest
Whilst I’d never travel with this cruiseline (my dad owns his own boat so whats’s the point), I have heard that the Catholic Answers cruise mediteranian cruise is quite good.

don’t knock it until you’ve tried it:)
