Sermon for 1st Sunday of Lent (1962MR)

Here is my sermon for the 1st Sunday of Lent for the High Mass today at Mater Ecclesiae where the 1962 Missale Romanum is in use.

Included:

  • The parish’s regular "prayer for vocations" which they pray at all Sunday Masses.  It is a variation of the prayer used for decades at St. Agnes Church in St. Paul, MN, my home parish.  Fr. Pasley here at Mater Ecclesiae visited St. Agnes years ago and picked up on this prayer from the time of the late Msgr. Richard Schuler, and brought it home to his flock with adjustments.
  • The readings for the Mass read in English.

    Father,
I love the prayer for vocations….can you write it down for us—with a suggestion on when to recite this? I would love to share it around with numerous churches here. Thank you and God Bless You!
