The Feeder Feed: New Bird!

I have seen the season’s first …

Passerina cyanea…. Mr. Indigo bunting!

They like millet.  I shall put out more millet in a separate feeder.

Meanwhile…

Here are three of the four male Grosbeaks which were parked for some chow at the same time.

The fourth is on the other side of the square feeder on the right.

Delightful. The birds of many colors at Fr. Z.’s place. I even gasped a little at the picture of the Indigo Bunting. Are your feeders located out in the open, not under trees or porch, etc.?

Thank you for sharing your birds and photos!

Yes, we had our first Indigo Bunting at the feeder yesterday – must all be on the same schedule! No swallows yet this year, though.

Lovely photos, Father. I just got a feeder myself and plan to add more as time and finances allow. Thank you for inspiring me to take up this hobby and to enjoy the littlest and most musical of God’s creatures.

If I can, I will be sure to send a donation to help you out with your own feeders. God bless.

  5. Beautiful gifts from God. The birdsong too is its own chant. Our birds have been singing non-stop for weeks now.

Keeping both you and our Holy Father in prayers.

Glorious bunting! Blue for Our Lady’s month!

I echo Plain Catholic’s last sentence: keeping you and our Holy Father in my prayers.
