Happy New Year of Salvation 2011!

I wish all of you a Holy and Happy New Year of Salvation.

As the Holy Father said during 1st Vespers for the feast, we submit this year to the judgment of God even as we remember with joy what God has done for us to win our salvation.

I am glad this year is over.

There have been joys and successes, but a lot of people I know have had a hard time.

We all have had our own sufferings and trials.

Let us join them to the Cross of Christ and invoke the help of the Mother of God.

Let us pray for each other tonight and tomorrow.

I am off to sing a Mass soon, and a solemn Te Deum after.

I will remember you who have been so good to me and supportive during the year.

May God bless you and yours.

Happy New Year, Fr. Z! God Bless you! I am happy to be rid of 2010, too. Here’s to a new year.

  2. God bless you, Father. You’ve said what I suspect not only I but a lot of others feel — as you so often do. May the New Year usher in a season of renewal for all of us.

I will pray for you and your intentions! Thanks for all you do for the Church.

Thank you, Father, for all you do. At times I feel as if the people on this blog are the only real friends in faith I have. It probably also gives many of us a chance to say things or think things “out loud” that we would not be able to say, or don’t have the courage (or foolhardiness) to say, elsewhere.

Happy New Year to all, and Merry Christmas (there are 12 days of Christmas, after all, and we still have 6 of them to go)

Thank you Father for putting more eloquently into words what I on Facebook have been saying in a, well, not quite so eloquent manner. Goodbye 2010, I will not miss you. God bless you Father. A happy and blessed new year to you and to all the readers of WDTPRS. Bring on 2011! And Merry Christmas too, since it’s still Christmas!

  23. rakesvines says:

Thanks for your internet presence. It is edifying and hospitable. You do a lot of good.

  24. Happy New Year to everyone! I agree wholeheartedly with Fr. Z–2010 brought both joys and trials but, as St. Paul says, nothing can separate us from God’s strengthening love.

As for the TLM, 2010 was a great year in my area. In my diocese, the number of churches offering the TLM doubled from two to four! There’s still a long way to go, but it is my prayer that this growth continues, not just in my diosease but everywhere.

A blessed 2011 to Fr. Z and all who read his blog. I must praise the Lord for this past year which was filled with blessings for my family members and in my spiritual life. Any year which includes the birth of two healthy granddaughters, a child’s marriage to a devout Catholic, and having a parish priest who offers the opportunityfor an hour of Eucharistic adoration before the TLM six days a week–and these are only some of the highlights!–is a year to remember and give thanks for!

  31. GrogSmash says:

Thank you Fr. Z! May our good God bless you (and all of your readers) abundantly in the New Year!

  32. irishgirl says:

This is a couple of days late, but….Happy New Year of 2011, Father Z!
I love coming on your blog and reading all the things you write about: the happy, the sad, the funny, the serious. Love your culinary and birdie pics. Love the pics of your travels [NYC and London, for instance]. Love the podcasts….hey, I even love it when you rant! And I was so glad to hear your voice when you did the commentary for the EF Mass at the National Shrine last April! You and Fr. Calvin Goodwin did such a splendid job! I hope the two of you will ‘do it again’ this year!
May Jesus and Mary bless and keep you, this ‘New Year of Salvation’, and always!
