LENTCAzT 18: Saturday of the 2nd Week of Lent

These 5 minute daily podcasts for Lent are intended to give you a small boost every day, a little encouragement in your own use of this holy season.

Today is Saturday of the 2nd Week of Lent. The Roman Station is Sts. Marcellinus and Peter. The Titular Cardinal is Aloysius Card. Ambrozic, Archbishop Emeritus of Toronto.

A hint at the thought: Think of how Moses, when speaking with God face to face, had to wear a veil after wards, because his face was to bright to look at.

    Greetings from Austria, Father!
Can you please tell me what lovely hymn is being played under your narrative for this Lentcazt. It is a beautiful work, and sounds as if it is being sung by an English choir of men and boys.
With best regards from the Tirol!

Looking back, I know, I’m dating myself, but it was so fascinating and mysterious, the veil that was behind the door of the Tabernacle. Remembering watching the priests, opening the door, parting the curtain to one side, or sometimes it swung aside on a little rod, taking out the sacred vessels and then after holy communion, reversing the process. Boy that was something special and mysterious, I didn’t understand it all, still don’t, but it was such an intriguing part of the Mass. I have not seen the veil since I can’t remeber when.
