I had to read the headline of the story twice, and let it sink in.

Houston Democrats Throw Christmas Party at Planned Parenthood
by Steven Ertelt | Houston, TX | LifeNews.com

Democrats in Houston have decided on a location for their annual Christmas party and have decided to hold it at a local Houston Planned Parenthood facility. The women’s auxiliary of the Harris County Democratic Party will hold their politically correct-named “Holiday Party” on December 8 at the late-term abortion business Planned Parenthood runs in the southeast party of Houston that has gained national attention and controversy.

The location is no surprise given the close relationship the Democratic Party has with abortion advocates, especially in Houston. Houston Mayor Annise Parker spoke at the opening of the massive new Planned Parenthood abortion business (the location of the party) in June 2010, saying, “It’s not about the building; it’s about people’s lives; it is not about women, it is about families [That’s right!] and it’s not about what we do here today, it’s about our future.”

Parker lives with her life partner Kathy Hubbard, campaign treasurer for Planned Parenthood and Parker’s bid for re-election as Houston Mayor was endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

The gigantic abortion facility planned Parenthood now runs in Houston is a seven story, 78,000 square foot center that will eventually do abortions later in pregnancy.

Jim Sedlak of STOPP International condemned Parker at the time.

“No matter where you live, it would be entirely appropriate to write, phone or email the mayor and ask her just how brutally killing children up to 20 weeks gestation helps the families and the future of Houston.”“And remember, this facility is located in the midst of four huge minority neighborhoods,” he said.

He noted that Parker serves on the board of directors of Girls, Inc., among other community organizations, and it has partnered up with Planned Parenthood in the past.

Well, after all, they did advertise it as a “Holiday Party,” of course.

  2. disco says:

See the thing I would have found shocking was if it was actually called a Christmas party.

It’s not about women it’s about families. It’s about making sure families don’t exist, especially when those families might be of color.

  3. JohnE says:

And on Dec. 8 — feast day of the Immaculate Conception. Could they be any more sinister?!

  4. mike cliffson says:

    Pure 1984 , most orwellian:
A “holiday party “at “planned parenthood.
“It’s not about the building; it’s about people’s lives; it is not about women, it is about families; and it’s not about what we do here today, it’s about our future. ” Ministry of Peace, Ministry of love…”
    Oh yes, democratic…
Im sure it’ll be doubleplus good,……thoughtcrime, anyone?

  5. Andrew says:

Why do individuals such as this Parker get elected to office? Why is it that popular support is on their side? I can’t wrap my brain around that.

  6. Paul M says:

Shouldn’t have surprised me, but wow, the gall! Hopefully a quick and forceful response from the Cardinal Archbishop.

  7. ContraMundum says:

To the Mother of God let us now have recourse with fervor, and let us lowly sinners fall down in repentance crying from the depths of our souls: “O Lady, help and have mercy upon us! Make haste! We perish under our many sins! Turn not your servants away empty, for in you we possess our only patroness!”

  8. Peggy R says:

So, some people’s lives and futures matter more than others. Isn’t it creepy to think of having a party, “holiday” or any other, in an abortuary? Who would go to an ICU or any surgery center, or how about a morgue, for a party? Now, the medical folks who work in those places don’t mind. (My mom was an ICU nurse. Those ladies have a sense of humor to keep their sanity, I guess.) But the general public? Maybe some folks who go to the party will see something that makes their stomach turn and think twice.

On the feast of the Immaculate Conception? Sigh…O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to you.

  9. Liz says:

This sounds like the parties that Sebelius used to have for abortionist George Tiller and staff. Oh wait….I guess those were at the governor’s mansion.

  10. Bryan Boyle says:

You know, we can wax poetic with such nostrums as ‘praying for them’ and imploring the Blessed Mother’s intervention…but…at some point, like the apostles were warned to do, you have to shake the dust from your sandals.

While I’ll not presume to judge the state of their miserable souls (and how can these deluded people be otherwise), to be honest…I’m wondering if offering up prayers for the redemption of these baby killers and their simpering hangers-on doing Satan’s work while they’re here on earth would not be more judiciously spent on the holy souls in Purgatory who have no one to remember, let along pray for, them.

Yes, we’re supposed to love our enemies. But, praying for these spawn of Satan for their conversion, in my opinion, is a waste of prayer that could be directed towards the millions of their innocent victims and the women who were deluded by this force of eugenic darkness than the purveyors themselves. In His own good time…they will be dealt with. Of that you can be certain.

  11. APX says:

    it is not about women, it is about families;

What’s their slogan? “Destroying families. Killing lives.” ???

  12. JKnott says:

It is interesting to speculate how Dante would write about this event.
For those making the novena to the Immaculate Conception, a reparation intention is certainly in order.

  13. jasoncpetty says:

Shouldn’t have surprised me, but wow, the gall! Hopefully a quick and forceful response from the Cardinal Archbishop.

God bless His Eminence, but I don’t think this warrants his attention. I’ve only heard one statement of his in opposition to something mandated to be read from the pulpit–and that was on a matter of potential diocese-threatening dimension, requiring immediate emergency intervention, tax-exempt status be damned, throw off the gloves and loosen the Roman collars. Oh, wait.

  14. benedetta says:

Total ick. Total hypocrisy and contradiction inherent in working for PP and Girls, Inc. all at the same time…if you like girls then how can you also be about supporting the slaughter of a generation of them, here or in other countries?

  15. APX says:

    Benedetto

I asked the same question in my women’s studies class and got the same old answer, “women have a right over their bodies”. *sigh*

  16. benedetta says:

APX, I know, curiously one discovers quite easily and with myriad experiences that there is much much more to ‘women’s studies’ than that jingoistic phrase, which is not nearly the sum total or an accurate representation to the ‘whole’ story or even the simple biological truth.

  17. trad catholic mom says:

So disgusting I literally feel like *insert puking smilie*

  18. Just when I start feeling like maybe I shouldn’t be writing my blog, maybe I shouldn’t go pray outside the abortion clinic, maybe I’m all healed up now and it’s time to put it alway and move on, I’m reminded that I am not yet done and never will be. I’ll keep telling my story and documenting what abortion has done to me hoping that one person listens. I don’t understand how some people can celebrate abortion and hold it up as a right of some kind. It makes me physically sick.

  19. Rob Cartusciello says:

I admire the Culture of Death for its candor. It makes choosing between the lesser of two evils so much easier.

  20. Mariana says:

““women have a right over their bodies”. ”

Half of the babies are girls, dont THEY have a right over their bodies?

  21. Joanne says:

“Isn’t it creepy to think of having a party, “holiday” or any other, in an abortuary?”

Seriously. blech. I’m a nurse and it makes me queasy to think about being in a Planned Parenthood. I wonder too if it will come up in small talk that PP is most likely closed on Christmas Day…you know, the day we celebrate the birth of a child…

  22. Joanne says:

Sorry for multiple posts, but as long as PP is in existence, I’m thrilled to see Democrats allying themselves with it. The culture is, I believe, increasingly prolife, or at the very least, becoming much less sympathetic to an abortion business that takes so much of our money. Let them all sink together.

  23. almostpogo says:

    It gets worse.

LifeNews didn’t mention that the party is hosted by Texas State Representative Carol Alvarado (D-District 145) and Texas State Representative Jessica Farrar (D-District 148), both of whom identify themselves as “Roman Catholic.” (Alvarado attends St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.)

The Houston Coalition for Life will be celebrating the true meaning of Christmas outside of PP that evening from 530pm-700pm. It’s called “In Joyful Hope.” http://www.houstoncoalition.com Participating Catholics are invited to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the Catholic Charismatic Center across the street afterward at 730pm.

The Houston Coalition is doing much good in the midst of great evil. Please pray for us here in Houston. Benedicta sancta eius et immaculata Conceptio!

  24. Patt says:

Our pastor at morning Mass pointed this out to those present. How utterly vile to have a “party” where babies are being murdered. Ghoulish and evil. We voted against this mayor last month, but she got in once again. The supporters? Planned Parenthood (what a bad name) and the homosexual community. It made us SICK!!!! She had 5 opponents and just barely won. She has been the most un-popular mayor (and we’ve had some bad ones) ever! Our pro life groups will protest the Democratic Party of death that shows such blatant audacity without shame.

  25. Johnno says:

Sure women have a right to their body. But they don’t have a right to decide what to do with another’s body. In this case that of the child in their womb, which is a unique body that is theirs and not the woman’s. This is scientifically defensible by the presense of an immune system in the child’s body to pretect it from any incursion from a foreign body, as in, that of their own mother! Just as we all have to protect our bodies from biological invasions of stuff from the bodies of others.
