Seminarians learning from the very best sources!

At the blog of a seminarian, Cor Ad Cor Loquitur, I saw post that gives me hope for good, strong priests in the future.

About Fr. John Zuhlsdorf

    crustum ad clericus loquitur

(assisted by Google translator, so not sure if this is saying what I mean to say!)

Remember, the seminarian has no control over the content of the ads at the lower left he hopes you will use to earn him some money. I saw ads for Fjorn Scandinavian, dust collection systems at Rockler, and modern lighting design classics from Flos and Artemide at YLighting. I doubt it is coincidental that I have visited these sites recently.

What would priests do, if suddenly there would be a new special rubric in the missal, or even a specific canon, requiering priests to abstain from chinese food for at least three days before saying mass according to the the EF? Some special Eucharistic fast option or something. I think the celebrations of EF masses would drop drastically…:)

Sadly he does not allow comments (or at least not easily).

Whilst I can understand why he would not want to, the comments and the discussion between commentators are a large part of the interest in a blog, and very few blogs are interesting enough on their own to read them without comments (“In the Light of the Law” is the only one I can think of that is).

Whilst this seems good, it doesn’t seem good enough to return to regularly without comments.

RichardT: I turned on the commenting. I had it on initially, then turned it off when I was getting some bad feedback on a few posts. Here is my take. I’ll moderate, and anything that is super negative I’ll not allow in, however I’ll allow everything else.

Thanks for visiting! I’ll try and post some good material and my time in seminary goes along. I’m putting together a piece right now on same-sex marriage. I think I have an interesting take on the argument against.

    What a nice man!

It’s rather late over now on this side of the Pond, but I shall drop in tomorrow and post a polite comment or two.

I wish you success for both your blog and your studies.

nbSPSSOD: If there are some extraordinary standards you wish you commenters to abide by maybe you should state them somewhere on your blog so your readership doesn’t waste there time trying to engage in discussion only to have their comments blocked or deleted. Cheers.
