Be nice!

With a biretta tip to the great Vincenzo, whom we miss around here…

“Our Lord was crucified by the nice people who held that religion was all right in its place, so long as its place was not here, where it might demand of them a change of heart. The gravest error of the nice people in all ages is the denial of sin.”

– Archbishop Fulton Sheen

That is a great quote. I’m going to file it away with my other favorites.

  3. Midwest St. Michael says:

” If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:8-10)

  4. JKnott says:

Human respect and political correctness belong in the playpen of “nice”. Playpens of “nice” can be conveniently located in many neighborhood parishes. After all, what else is the Sign,- Kiss,- Hug, -Wave of Peace for?

  5. jmgazzoli says:

H.E. Bishop Ahr of Trenton used to say that we are called to be kind, not nice.

Yes, we do miss Vincenzo. Great quote, though.
Speaking of Archbishop Sheen, I just read on Spirit Daily that the Vatican has come out with a ‘Decree of Heroic Virtue’ for him! So now he can be called ‘Venerable’! Here’s the link: http://www.spiritdaily.com

Man, I really need to get a pic of the ristorante he has around here. Or maybe it’s someone with the same name. Or maybe it was someone whose grandpappy had the same name. Still amuses me every time I see it. ;^)
