“Somebody else made that happen!”

Every presidential campaign seems to have it famous phrase.

I think this might be it.

Somebody else made that happen – say what?

Made what happen? If one thinks Iraq is at peace think again.

  3. wmeyer says:

    But he earned….
    – retribution for profligate spending
    – disdain for his condescension
    – eviction for general incompetence
    – punishment for his endless lies

  4. acardnal says:

Never did understand how he ever was worthy to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. What did he do????

  5. Clinton R. says:

And the someone else who made Obama’s Nobel Prize is the New World Order. I think that certificate he’s holding has George Soros’ signature on it.

  6. teomatteo says:

…shoulda given him an NBA championship ring… woulda made as much sense…

  7. Traductora says:

LOL! When Bambi got the Nobel Peace Prize, a coffee shop near me changed their signboard so it read “Free Nobel Prize with every cup of coffee”.

  8. wmeyer says:

Well, after all, they gave one to Jimmy Carter. How is this much different? Both men have been terrible in office.

  9. EXCHIEF says:

A rigged Nobel Prize Committee did it for him

  10. chcrix says:

“… they gave one to Jimmy Carter.”

It is different because Jimmy Carter at least had the Camp David accords to his credit.

They gave the current incumbent the peace prize apparently for being more telegenic than GWB. Certainly there was no concrete anything to point to.

  11. albinus1 says:

Apples and oranges. Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for work he has done since he left office. His performance in office was really irrelevant, except for the extent to which doors were open to his as an ex-president that wouldn’t have been open to him otherwise. We can debate whether Carter’s work since he left office was deserving of the Prize, but his conduct as president wasn’t ever the issue. Obama, on the other hand, was awarded the Prize before he even took office, as a kind of prospective award for what he might do or was expected to do. Very strange.

BTW, no one “earns” a prize such as the Nobel Peace Prize. The prize is awarded. It is certainly debatable whether a particular honoree received it deservedly or undeservedly, but it’s not the sort of thing anyone can “earn” — i.e., it isn’t a stated recompense granted in return for the successful completion of a specified task or set of tasks. Otherwise, anyone could set about completing those specified tasks and thus “earn” the award, the way Scouts earn merit badges. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded, based on a subjective evaluation of the merits of the proposed honorees. Similarly, no one can “earn” the Medal of Honor; it is awarded. The recipients of the Medal of Honor are certainly deserving of the honor; but it’s not something they “earned”.

  12. acardnal says:

Okay, technically he didn’t “earn” it. Let’s say he wasn’t worthy to merit the award. How’s that? Then again, we in America give out awards to anyone for doing or NOT doing anything but show up. Sometimes you don’t even have to show up. EVERYONE gets a ribbon. Whooppeee!

He wasn’t George Bush, that’s all there was to it.

NB: Carter did not receive the Nobel Prize for Economics.

We need a photo of Obama with the Peace Prize and holding a model of the Predator.

Thank you, Mr. President, for handing us one of the funniest memes ever. The possibilities are endless.

  17. Supertradmum says:

If he gets re-elected, the Americans deserve all the bad things that will happen…They will have earned that.

  18. cwalshb says:

Supertradmum…will all of us Americans have earned that? What about the Americans who couldn’t control his election, people who were too young to vote when he was elected (but I sure am old enough now and I sure will be doing damage control!)…and further, what about our children? Do they deserve this?

A whole website was devoted to this ridiculous Obama proclamation.

  20. StJude says:

I saw this in a townhall article:

” If you’re one of the millions of Americans counted as part of the eight percent unemployed, you didn’t get there on your own. Somebody else made that happen. And he’s running for reelection.”

  21. Supertradmum says:

cwalshb, there were holy people in Jerusalem when it was completely destroyed by the Romans. In times of trial, when the majority of people fall away from God, the just suffer with the unjust. It has always been this way. Christ spoke from under the weight of His Cross on the way to Golgotha to the weeping women. “But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children.” Luke 23:28 DR

We must try out hardest to avoid chaos and war and bad government. If we fail, we have done the best we could do, but we must try. With over 50 million abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade, I cannot imagine that God will not punish us. This is one of the sins which cries out to heaven for vengeance. Add all the other sins to that, such as that of the lgtb groups, another sin which cries out to heaven and one cannot but think that God will answer and allow suffering.

  23. Let’s face it , he got the prize by being elected the first Afro American President of the USA. I am sure when the first woman or the first openly gay are elected they too will receive the prize.

  24. pappy says:

Here’s an interesting bit of trivia about the Nobel Peace Prize.

President Obama has fired more Cruise missiles that all other Peace Prize winners
combined (and that includes Mother Teresa)

  25. Johnno says:

    acardnal –

Obama for given the Nobel Peace prize pre-emptively… meaning the Nobel Committee believed in him so much as the new Savior of the World and Prince of Peace, that they had full faith he would usher in an era of World Peace, particularly in the Middle East despite that at the time he was just recently elected and hadn’t even done anything yet…

Since then Obama has kept the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, promised more troops to the cause, broken his promises for shutting down Guantanamo Bay, has ushered in drone killings, more bombardments killing people and children and scarring them for life. And has signed in more draconian measures giving the American President more power to control land, food and infrastructure in both war and peace time. Etc. etc. etc. So so much for Peace…

I’m not blaming Obama for this. I fully put this absurd pre-awarding of an award solely at the feet of the modern Nobel Prize Committee who made this move I bet purely to ride on Obama’s coattails of popularity. They should be ashamed and embarrassed. Make it a point to never let them forget. Etch this moment in the world’s history of stupidity forever.

  26. Darren says:

Supertradmum says: If he gets re-elected, the Americans deserve all the bad things that will happen…They will have earned that.

The Americans who voted for him twice, and despite how bad things get, still bow own and worship him like a god… they are the ones who will get what they deserve. But!!!! The rest of the world will suffer as well.

I voted for McCain , and will vote for Romney… so, if Romney wins, I get what I deserve… perhaps. Or many I deserve better. Romney was not my choice among republicans. I would probably have chosen four of them over him, but by the time the New Jersey primary rolled around, he was all that was left.

Alas, George Washington is not available any more.

No. If Obama wins, I do not get what I deserve… I get what I am stuck with. I deserve better. All Americans deserve better – even those who worship him. All of the world deserves better, because we all know that the President of the US has great bearing on the entire world, not just the 50 states, DC and the territories. The 51st “state of Israel” as well

  27. Supertradmum says:

To redeem the situation, I challenge Catholics to go into politics. Or, if you have children, raise them to be excellent leaders. The Catholic leaders we have had Pelosi, Biden, Kennedy reflect the lack of conservative, orthodox Catholics. If Catholics who are true to the Church do not lead the way, we deserve what we get. We all need to be out there doing our bit. All. And, training leaders.

The leadership crisis is on the shoulders of any Catholic who has not realized we are the Church Militant.
