YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use the sharing buttons!  Thanks!

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

We should support each other in works of mercy.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

But, registered or not, please take a moment to pray for the people about whom you read here below.

Finally, I have two serious needs. I don’t know to resolve them.  It looks like prayer may be the only way to bring swift help.

  1. I’ll start things off.

I just received this from a reader:

In your charity, would you please offer a prayer for a 22-year-old young man? His name is Micheal. A virus has attacked his heart. He is in intensive care on life support and has been put on the heart transplant list.

  2. vermontaigne says:

What do you need help with, Padre?

  3. Girgadis says:

In your charity, may I ask your prayers for one of my nurses? She is in her early 40’s, in very good shape, and is in heart failure for reasons which have her doctors baffled. Thank you.

  4. Frank H says:

Patrick is a young man – late 20s – who has gotten addicted to pain medication after a difficult medical condition, and has now succumbed to heroin and other horrors. Prayers needed for him and his parents.

  5. lethargic says:

Please pray for my 17yo son … he is engaging in behaviors that could be just teen cussedness or could be depression or other mental illness … and I can’t tell which … and he’s bigger than me, so I can’t compel him into counseling, which he categorically refuses … help!

  6. Supertradmum says:

Will fast for you Fr. Z., and pray for all. Offer up room of 80 degrees and no air. Pray for my visa [! Sympathy and prayers.] and future, please..from phone.

  7. Sissy says:

I am praying for all, and will fast for you, Fr. Z, on Monday. Please add a young lady named Mary who is struggling with anxiety.

  8. Fr. Frank says:

Please pray for 18 yr old Brianne. Her dad’s in prison for running a meth lab & her mom is also out of the picture. Night before last her boyfriend shot her up with a combination of drugs and she went into cardiac arrest. She was declared brain dead this afternoon. Mom re-entered the picture and gave docs permission to harvest the girl’s organs tomorrow. Mary, pray! Jesus, mercy!

  9. KFT says:

Please pray for my husband and me. We have been married nearly 19 years, and are attending Retrouvaille next weekend. Pray that it bears good fruit.

  10. FloridaJoan says:

I will remember all the intentions on this blog at our Parish Holy Hour Monday at 7:00PM.
May I also request your prayers for my confused 16 year old grandson Daniel.

    pax et bonum

  11. Mike says:

I will pray for all of these intentions, tonight, and at Mass tomorrow.

  12. The Sicilian Woman says:

I’ll include all current and future intentions this post in my Rosary this coming week.

  13. Liz says:

Oh dear, some of these things are so heavy. Gosh, praying for all of your intentions and for you too, Fr. Z.

  14. Pray that I’m able to find a home, and a job :), and pray for my engagement to my wonderful fiance :)

  15. Random Friar says:

    Praying!

  16. Ellen says:

Pray for my brother who has a bone infection in his foot. He is being treated with IV antibiotics, but if they don’t stem the infection, he may lose a toe.

  17. Supertradmum says:

Father Frank, I prayed for a miracle through Venerable Edel Quinn for your young woman. If anything happens, may sure she gets the “credit”. This would be a huge miracle.

  18. Fr. Frank says:

Thank you, STM! Heading off to first Mass in a moment. Am joining you in asking Ven. Edel Quinn’s intercession.

  19. dahveed says:

Oh, my. Will pray for all of you, and your intentions, both now and later this morning, at Mass.

  20. (X)MCCLXIII says:

Please pray for Fr L., S.J., an elderly priest known to me who has become very infirm recently.

  21. LaxMom25 says:

Please pray for my friend. We lived together in Germany a few years back but have not kept super-close since then. After over 20 years of marriage, her husband has divorced her. Her only daughter heads to college this week, and my friend has relocated to this area. She has a job and a place to live and I am so proud of her, but she has no hope for her future. I want her to know the loving arms of our Blessed Mother holding her tight and getting her through this. She is also trying to re-establish a practicing faith. Please pray for faith, hope, and love for my friend.

  22. cantrix says:

Please pray for a little boy named Patrick. He wandered away from his parents and later was found unconscious. He is clinging to life but the doctors don’t know what is wrong.

  23. iPadre says:

Fr. Z, I will concelebrate at the Feast Day at St. Theresa’s Shrine. I will offer that Mass for you and all here who have need.

  24. Vecchio di Londra says:

In your goodness please pray for the daughter of two young friends of mine, both faithful Catholics. The little girl has cancer of the stomach, and faces a maximum dose of chemotherapy preceded by periods of ICE treatment. She is a bright and talented child, and remains very brave and lively despite the chemo she’s had so far. But the parents naturally are very stressed, and as well as praying for the child’s survival, I pray God that the burdens on their marriage (through the protracted illness and possible death of their daughter) should not prove too heavy for them to bear.
    Per Christum Dominum nostrum, Amen.

In turn I promise to pray for all the intentions mentioned above and below.

  25. VexillaRegis says:

For my dear old choir-tenors A. and O. who recently died and for my former teacher J., who passed away earlier this summer. No of them were catholic but they believed in God. Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine.
And for Fr. M and all priests.

  26. q7swallows says:

Thank you all for your prayers the last time I requested them here; my nephew did finally meet with his mother this week for dinner after an absence of years due to drugs and familial upheaval (ugly divorce).  The relationship between them is on the mend, Deo gratias!

Today, in your kindness, please  pray for me.  I’m in a tailspin of the worst anger and depression I’ve ever had stemming from an incident wherein my kids & I were publicly humiliated by a fellow parishioner–a  so-called friend–who loudly interrupted our extra-liturigical singing of a “Salve Regina” and “Regina Coeli” on Our Lady’s Assumption to lecture us and all present that singing Latin was inappropriate there.  I could tell a tale that would engender a huge controversy  here concerning the priest’s behavior surrounding the event but I will not expose him to that.

Nevertheless, because of the various levels of betrayal, I have been possessed of a vicious, smoldering anger, sarcasm, and depression and a most hardened heart since the Assumption.  Am feeling very much like the man robbed, beaten up, and left for dead and passed over by the priest.  (And that part hurts the worst.) The rest of my life has screeched to a halt while I am mentally stuck here.

Lectures/injunctions of a spiritual nature will be lost on me right now so don’t attempt to give them as I will not tolerate them.  I need the charity of the wine and oil of your prayers while I figure out what to do next.  Like find a new  parish.

I totally understand why people resort to drugs; the rum is just not cutting it.

  27. e.e. says:

In your charity, please pray for us. After 4.5 years of struggling with infertility, we are in the process of adopting a sibling group. The adoption process has been extremely rocky, and a new legal roadblock was thrown in our path a week ago. Please pray that God would remove all the bureaucratic obstacles and bring these children home to our family.

  28. aragonjohn7 says:

My grandmas eye and a client of the family who is starting to act well a little weird

  29. sallyr says:

Please pray for Cardinal George, who has a new diagnosis of cancer in his liver and kidney. My prayers with you all.

  30. SouthTxMom says:

Offering prayers for the intentions here. To q7swallows: I am sometimes tempted to despair, and was touched by your request—will do my best at offering sacrifices for you this week.

Please pray for two young people, K and M. Two different situations, but both young ladies are hurting and rebelling against God. Pray that God would hear the prayers of their families. Especially K., that she would be protected, and led swiftly back to Our Lord.

  31. q7swallows says:

OMG!!! I had no idea what today’s EF gospel was when I commented above!!! I just read it!

    SouthTxMom: thank you very much.

  32. Mark01 says:

All things considered, especially after reading the prayer intentions above, I really can’t ask for much more than I already have, but if you could, could you please pray that I deal better with a very difficult situation at work. (Thankful to have a job, but ever since I took on more responsibility in a new department, things have not been going well for me and it is affecting my health and family due to all the stress).

  33. lgreen515 says:

q7swallows–I know what it is to battle feelings like that, and I am praying for all the saints and holy angels and our Mother to comfort you in your distress.

  34. VexillaRegis says:

    e.e. : I will pray a rosary for you!

  35. poohbear says:

Offered Communion for the intentions that have been and will be posted in this thread. Also a candle was lit at the St Joseph altar at my parish for these intentions.

  36. Supertradmum says:

Father Frank, any updates-others praying here as well.

  37. Bea says:

Said a Hail Mary for each and every one of you here.
Please say a hail Mary for me and my daughter too. We try, but we always clash. We don’t communicate well, but we know we love each other.

    q7swallows
I had similar problems decades ago, and I was obsessed with wrongs and misjudgments done to me from a certain co-worker. The only way I found peace and forgiveness was every time this person came to mind (and it was a constant to the point of obsession), I would say a prayer for her. It works, also meditating on the wrongs and misjudgments done to Our Lord.
May God Bless you. Hang in there.
Not all priests are perfect and are unaware of how they may have hurt others. We can only place them at the feet of Our Lady, their very special mother, for Her to counsel them in the privacy of their hearts.

  38. aviva meriam says:

Praying for the intentions that have been and will be posted in this thread.

Please pray for me regarding two special intentions.

    Thank you.

  39. Marg says:

Praying for all your intentions. Please pray for our family…one recently divorced, one “bitter” agnostic , one on the road to becoming an alcoholic, the rest hanging in there. My husband and I tried so hard to raise them as good, holy Catholics and set a good example. All prayers will be appreciated.

  40. EmmyDy says:

I am praying for all intentions. I ask for your prayers. I am facing personal challenges, and am being overcome by despair and hopelessness. Please pray for me.

  41. lmo1968 says:

Please pray for me as I am having surgery to remove abnormal, potentially cancerous, tumors on my body. Also, pray for God to sustain me financially during this time .

  42. Suburbanbanshee says:

Praying for everyone’s intentions. Very thankful for your prayers and for my new full-time job!

  43. Paul M says:

Please pray for me and my young boys. My wife asked to separate to “work on our marriage,” and also declared that we can no longer work together (we have our own company). Of course, then I found out she’s been having an affair for 3 months. Been trying to work it out for kids sake, but am overwhelmed with lies & deceit. Please pray for us and also that I may quickly find a new job that will enable me to support my boys.

  44. ocleirbj says:

I am holding up all the requests on this list before God this morning. Thank you all for your prayers from my last entry about our baby grandson N, struggling with severe gastric reflux after being born 3 months early last January. Aside from this, he continues stable and healthy, D.g. On Thursday morning he will have an abdominal feeding tube put in, to replace the nasal tube that he keeps throwing up – he has been hospitalized for weeks because every time it comes up, it takes a specialized nurse or doctor to thread it back in. With the new g-tube, he will be able to come home, we hope permanently. Also please pray for my son and his wife, without the faith (yet!) to pray and find comfort in Christ.

In your charity, could you pray for the producers and distributors of the blasphemous film and play “Corpus Christi”?

  47. tmjost says:

Please pray for my mother, Mary Anne, who is dying. She has suffered greatly, and is near the end. She is the mother of 11 children, 37 grandchildren, and 13 great-grand children! She has a strong devotion to Mary and a love for the Sacred Heart. Please also remember my dad and family too. Thank you for your prayers.

  48. ocleirbj says:

Thanks to all for your prayers. Baby N. had his g-tube put in this morning and all went well. God is good!

  49. Dies Irae says:

Prayers, please, for a childhood friend of mine who is in serious trouble, involving drugs. Please pray that he will wholeheartedly accept the help he is now being given and will not continue down the same path. He’s not even eighteen yet, and it breaks my heart to think of a life wasted at so young an age. Pray that he has the strength, support from his family, and trust in God to change his life.

  50. Mom2301 says:

Please pray for my father. He will be undergoing delicate surgery for the removal of a brain tumor next Wednesday.

  51. blackcharlie says:

Would very much appreciate prayers for my family and I. Having a rough go with post traumatic stress syndrome and it’s been chewing up my life with the various debilitating symptoms. Family of four now broken up and separated. Me alone and the others having little to do with me. My autonomic nervous system is messed up and I’m praying and learning how to get back to normal. Please pray for that, and especially for my wife and two early-teen daughters who used to really love their Dad. I’m pretty desperate with this thing at times, but making progress and won’t give up. Thanks for helping.

  52. Mary Jane says:

Prayers for all here. Please also pray for L and for A.
