YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

We should support each other in works of mercy.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

But, registered or not, please take a moment to pray for the people about whom you read here below.

Finally, I still have two serious personal petitions.

    Praying for Fr. Z’s intentions.

Please pray for my daughter’s safe delivery. She’s in her 40’s and is expecting any day now.

For the victims of Hurricane Sandy: my brother-in-law and wife are housing displaced people, so is his married daughter. We cannot imagine the devastation.
Much is said about FEMA but their help is not really there. There is more reliance on neighbor to neighbor. It is cold. No Heat, No drinking water. Some with no homes. Total losses for these people. It is to cry for.

    1) I’ll pass along a prayer request I received this morning: for Mrs. G., a homeschooling mother of nine (youngest is <10 yrs), who just went into hospice care.
    2) My father had a fall in the kitchen yesterday when he was home alone. He doesn't remember what happened or when, but he somehow got himself back to bed, where Mom found him when she came home. He didn't realize his head was bleeding. But he refuses to go to the ER today, saying he'll see his doctor tomorrow. On top of all his chronic medical problems, this is something new.
    3) a personal problem related to my work.

Thank you for your prayers. I will pray for you & your intentions in my Rosary and (Dominican) Litany of the Saints every evening this month.

Would you please continue to pray for Fr. M., who is a lot less angry than before, but still has mood swings? Also please pray for our parish!

  6. GoZagsGo says:

I’m trying to pay off student loans quickly and find benefactors so I can enter the Dominican order in the coming year. Please pray that this can happen if God wills it. I will remember all previous posters and those who spare an Ave or two for me in daily Mass this week. Thanks.

  7. StWinefride says:

Please pray for my beloved sister, M, for reasons known to the Lord.

  12. lucindatcm says:

I need prayers to decide what I should do. I got into nursing school because I wanted to have a backup just in case my husband lost his job. This didn’t look likely then, and it doesn’t look likely now, but the economy is terrible, and nurses almost always can find jobs. I have 5 kids, three of which we’re homeschooling (the other two are too small). Anyway, I am seeing some situations in my clinical site that I don’t like, and therefore am hesitating about going into nursing (I’ve only been in the program 7 weeks). I need some prayers for discernment of God’s will for me and my family.

I will add everybody’s prayers to my rosary for tonight.

  13. Allan S. says:

    PRAYER IN ROME:

    1. For the conversion of my (Allan’s) wife, M., to the faith
    2. That my cancer not return or spread
    3. In thanksgiving for the Rosary, and the many graces I have received through it.

    Thanks Father!

  14. Paulo says:

The husband of the secretary of my children’s school was killed in a car crash on November 1st. The driver of the other car was evading a police, and was arrested on the scene. Please pray for the soul of the departed; for his surviving children, aged 12 and 14; for their mom, who is a wonderful lady and is quite distraught; and for the soul of the other driver: that he or she, in the solitude of a prison cell, with a contrite heart, may be able to ask for and obtain God’s forgiveness. This was a family of modest means, so pray as well that the ongoing fundraising efforts are successful in providing them with some material relief.

I will pray for all your intentions as well.

  15. CantareAmantisEst says:

I would be happy if anyone could spare even a brief moment to pray for this pressing intention.

A young girl I know was supposed to be confirmed this weekend. However, her family situation has got more dire and she and her mother have fled her abusive stepfather and are staying in some shelter, while he has lodged police reports about their disappearance and divorce papers have been filed.

Please pray for a swift, peaceful and fair resolution of the situation, especially that she will eventually get confirmed and that her parents’ hearts may be converted. Thank you — you have no idea how I much I will appreciate any prayer.

  16. Sissy says:

CantareAmantisEst: I am praying right now for the urgent situation you named. I will continue to lift the young convert (and her entire family) in prayer; please let us know what the Lord does for her. I know He has the solution already undeway!

  17. Catholictothecore says:

I will pray for Fr. Z’s intentions and all who have requested above.

  18. chantgirl says:

I will ask the holy souls in purgatory to pray for all of your intentions. Please pray for my brother and his wife. He is suffering from PTSD and their marriage needs prayers.

  19. AnnAsher says:

For my first son – struggling interiorly and deeply over direction in life. For my own wisdom.

  20. Di says:

Please pray that my message got to the Pope, from Cardinal Raymond Burke about re-instating the St. Michael prayer after every Mass in the world. We need to ask the Blessed Mother and St. Michael for their help in protecting the Church.
God have mercy on us all please, I ask this in name of Jesus Christ Your Son our Lord Amen.
    Please Prepare!

  21. wanda says:

Please pray for two dear gentlemen who have been diagnosed with cancer, that they may be granted a miraculous cure and that they may be able to bear up under the treatments which take such a toll. Also, please pray about a health concern for my husband that it not be anything serious.
My prayers promised for everyone’s intentions.

Please pray that the broken bone in my rt foot fuses without need for a metal plate and pins. I will also pray my rosary today for all the above intentions. pax et bonum

  25. e.e. says:

Praying for all the intentions posted here.

Please continue to pray for us, as we seek to adopt older children. This has been a very legally complicated situation, and we still face many more hurdles. Please pray that God will remove these obstacles and place these lonely children into our family. Your prayers have been and will continue to be most appreciated.

  26. A.D. says:

    To “lucindatcm”,
Pray deep and hard about going into professional nursing. It can’t be just a “back-up” or a “job”. You must really want to be a nurse to be a good one. Beyond that, know that you will encounter difficulties of an ethical nature in secular nursing schools and hospitals/health departments/home health care/etc., which will only get worse with the coming “culture of death” milieu.

God bless and I’ll keep you in my prayers.
    RN – Class of 1963.

  27. Sissy says:

lucindatcm: a relative of mine who is a BSN (and has taught nursing) has advised her daughters not to study nursing. The right of conscience is going to be lost under Obamacare, and you are likely to encounter courses where you are forced to learn how to assist at an abortion or in euthanasia. I would suggest you look into the program very carefully to find out if that is going to be the case during your training.

  28. wmeyer says:

In addition to the matter of losing the right of conscience, the history of socialized medicine in the UK and Canada shows that medical careers become less well compensated over time, and the available personnel pool shrinks. In short, it becomes a poor career choice.

  29. lucindatcm says:

Thank you to everyone who has sent me comments. I have decided that I do want become a nurse. Now I’m asking prayers that I make it through this. :-) I have not decided that I want to become a nurse because of a “job”. I have not decided I want to become a nurse because I won’t face ethical challenges. I am certain that I will have some situations where I have to stand alone. Usually, if people know you are good, they don’t bother you, and a biochemistry degree helps tremendously when it comes to nursing. As for a fight, the words of Polonius come to mind, “Beware/ Of entrance to a quarrel, but, being in,/Bear ‘t that th’ opposed may beware of thee.”

  30. momofmanyamf says:

Please pray for the 30 year old divorced gal who opened up to my 19 yr old daughter that she found out she was pregnant and planned to abort the baby. Pray that she goes to the pro-life clinic my daughter is giving her the info for and that she gives her baby life.

  31. KAS says:

My three year old took a fall and came down straddling what she stood on– we see the doctor this afternoon to make sure the injury isn’t serious. I’m upset that my best efforts cannot keep this kid safe.

  32. Mike says:

I asked about a priest celebrating the Novus Ordo at the church’s high altar and he said he would consider it!

  33. Mike says:

    *asked a priest about

  34. Angie Mcs says:

Please pray for my daughter, that she may find peace within herself and make the best decisions that will lead her closer to God. Also that she has some success with her career. May she open her heart to a kind, loving young man with strong Catholic values, someone who will also help her grow closer to Christ and away fom the negative aspects our society is continually drawing our young people into.

I will gladly pray for all intentions here, with respect and care.

FloridaJoan: last year I broke a major bone in my right foot and it healed without plates or pins. I did need to wear a special boot for 3-4 months and be careful and patient. I wish you the best.

  35. Sissy says:

I continue to pray for all intentions named here. Lucindatcm, if you are being called to nursing, you would be a wonderful blessing to many. I pray you will find the strength you need to see it through, come what may.

Would all hear please pray for a young woman named Jamie? She and her husband are longing for a baby; she has been unable to conceive so far. Please pray for her.
