ADVENTCAzT 05: Thursday of the 1st Week of Advent

This year I thought to do for Advent what I have done during Lent: post 5 minute daily podcasts to help your preparation for the upcoming feast.

And so, here is ADVENTCAzT 05, for Thursday of the 1st Week of Advent.

Today I include, inter alia, a poem for Advent by Christina Rossetti.

  1. VexillaRegis says:

Thanks again! I will ask my pastor if we can sing In the bleak midwinter for Mass sometime during this Christmas. Praying for you! The night crew is now off to work.

  2. StWinefride says:

“Let us pray now, while we may”.

Thank you, Father and God Bless!

  3. AnAmericanMother says:

Holst or Darke? (Either one is lovely)

  4. VexillaRegis says:

Dear AAM: We have the Holst tune in our hymnbook, but it’s mostly sang by choirs here, in the 4-part setting. Lovely, indeed, very congenial.

  5. mikewnek says:

Father Z your God given deep baritone voice is perfect for radio and I’m not suggesting your face is too ;>) I’ll be looking forward to all your Advent posts. Thanks for all your hard work in the upkeep of this blog.

  6. Jerome Vincent says:

Yes, thank you for these, Father, especially this last one. I had been really hoping last month that you might make casts for Advent as I knew you did for Lent; so I’m glad you did, and these truly have brightened the week for me. Off to pray Compline now for your intentions.
