Today is Friday of the 3rd Week of Lent.
We hear about the ancient Roman Station church, San Lorenzo in Lucia (the Titular Basilica of Card. Ranjith!), the Collects in both forms of the Roman Rite, and then have something from Benedict XVI and the ancient Shepherd of Hermas.
From the ancient Shepherd:
Push every doubt away and do not hesitate, even for an instant, to ask the Lord for a grace, thinking to yourself: “How is it possible for me to ask and receive from the Lord, since I have sinned so much against him?” Do not think this, but turn to him with your whole heart and pray to him without faltering; you will experience his great mercy. God is not like men, who hold grudges; he forgets offences and has pity on his creature.
