    Reverend Father,

I hoop you will feel better soon! I’ll pray for you.

From the Roman Missal (Postcommunio from the Mass for the Sick):
Deus, infirmitatis humanae singulare praesidium: auxilii tui super infirmos famulos tuos ostende virtutem; ut, ope misericordiae tuae adjuti, Ecclesiae tuae sanctae incolumes repraesentari mereantur. Per Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum Filium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitate Spiritus Sancti, Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum. Amen.

I offered my morning rosary for you, and for all clergy.

Re-doubling prayer for you, Fr. Z. Rest, chicken noodle soup, plenty of fluids. A little bird charm to maybe lift your spirits, I just watched Mr. Cardinal give Mrs. Cardinal a seed! Too soon for babies, so I am confident this was from Mr. to Mrs.

Prayers that this bug passes you by in a big hurry.

  4. momoften says:

Sorry you aren’t better yet-prayers for you throughout the day.

  5. Bosco says:

Jeepers, Father. Rest is the ticket! Prayer will be provided but short of shooting you with a tranquilizer dart your going to have to do the ZZZZZZZZZZZZ part on your won. Now behave yourself and get to bed.

  6. Bosco says:

on your ‘won’ that is 8-)

  7. Bosco says:

ok…I’ll have another go…on your ‘own’ LOL

I too shall pray for you and offer up my research paper I have suffer through and write today for you as well. It’s due at 2359 and I haven’t started writing it yet, as chronic sickness caused me to fall behind again. Please pray for me as well. This paper leaves me at Blegh cubed.

  9. The Masked Chicken says:

You have 346 years left to finish it. What’s the rush :)

    Prayers for you, Father.
If it continues, please see a doctor. There are some things only anti-biotics can knock out.
    In the meantime:
    Plenty of Rest
    Lots of liquids.

  15. Blog Goliard says:

This is an exceptionally unwise method of gathering more data to add to your analysis of Extreme Unction.

But seriously…I am remembering you in my prayers, Father.

  16. PA mom says:

Sorry to hear that, Father. More prayers coming your way…

Prayers for you, Father Z. May prayers to Our Lady of Prompt Succor help to hasten your recovery. Try some hot lemonade with honey.

  19. lizaanne says:

If I could send you my french onion soup through the internets I would. Hot brothy soup with a good dose of protein, and onions and garlic to ward off evil beasties. :-)

Hope you feel better soon – will keep you in prayer!

  20. Indulgentiam says:

    Dear Father,
We will say more prayers and back them up with a mortification for your benefit. I know you already know and probably do this. But sometimes when we are sick our brains are just not working right. Try drinking Holy Water. A glass 3 times a day. I got a very bad bladder infection a few months ago. In the second week fever and other unpleasant symptoms set in. I could not take the meds, prescribed to clear it up, without worsening another condition I have. Anyway, I prayed and prayed and started drinking Holy Water with Blessed salt. In only one day the pain lessened. By the end of the week it had all cleared up.
The Lord bless you and keep you,…
Our lady guard you and guide you.

  21. future_sister says:

Should I offer up the fact that I’m getting sick for you to get better? I spent the morning caring for my sick roommate and making sure she got to the infirmary and now I don’t feel good. :( stomach bug going around. I’ll offer up my Holy Hour for you tonight, and my rosary :) and I second the drink Holy Water idea, depending on how much Blessed Salt is in it… The bottle I have now has sooooo much salt in it.
Praying for sure. Pray for me perhaps as well?

  22. benedetta says:

    The Masked Chicken,

346 years, I wish. It’s not going so well. At least I have the comfort of knowing Alfred Tennyson also didn’t find God “in eagle’s wings”.

  26. JoyfulMom7 says:

    Dear Father Z,

My Adoration hour will be offered for your healing. Please do try to rest.

  27. A German in France says:

From France, the “Eldest Daughter of the Church”, a heartful prayer for you, Father Zuhlsdorf. Please have a rest, don’t write for a while, stay just at home and do nothing. Nature will repair, I’m sure, “if God will”, as says St Hildegard. We all are asking this to Him. Good night!

  28. laurazim says:

My suffering offered for your health, Father. Know of our family’s prayers for your swift return to good, full health. (And homemade chicken soup any time you need it: send word through Fr. Rick.)

It always gets worse before it gets better. Hope you turn the corner soon!

  30. Suburbanbanshee says:

I’m hoping you’re feeling better tonight, Father! Chai tea with turmeric on top is good for you and good-tasting too!
