POPE PIUS CLOCK

Today in the Roman calendar is the feast of St. Pius I, Pope and martyr (+155).

On such a glorious feast as this, I remind the readership of the wondrous

POPE PIUS CLOCK

Our friend (who hasn’t been around much, come to think of it), the great Vincenzo (official photoshopper of Fr. Z’s Blog) put together a great clock with images of the Pii as the numbers.

(There are 12 Popes Pius… get it?)

A great gift for a priest or religious.

UPDATE: At that site there is a photo from my office at the good ol’ Sabine Farm (sniff).  I brought my clock to the Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue but I wound up giving my clock to a young priest.  Then I got another, for the Cupboard Under The Stairs.  Now, that clock died, and I’ve ordered another on the last day of 2019.

Once upon a time…

“Thou art Peter, and upon this clock I will build my Church.” (pace their website, which just asks for it.)

    Sorry!

Seriously though, what happened to the Sabine Farm and the bird-feeder? There was no post about your translation, I think? [There wasn’t.]

  2. Westie says:

But Father! But Father! You mean I’ve been envisioning you at the Sabine Farm this whole time and you’re not there anymore???

  3. One of those TNCs says:

I LOVE the sign on the chair!

  4. pookiesmom says:

Father, way too cool!! Just curious–did you have the 10 inch or the 17 inch–I’m getting, “But Mom, the 17 inch is so big!” But is the 10 inch so small that you can’t get a good picture of the all the Piuses? Your clock looked awesome ….!

  5. I’ve got a Popes Pius clock — ordered it right before the conclave, in case Cardinal Burke was elected and took the name Pius XIII.

  6. Josephus Muris Saliensis says:

Miss Moore, Cardinal Burke would never do anything as vulgar as tacitly encouraging the 24r hour clock! A horrible post-enlightenment construct.

  7. James Joseph says:

If I were pope I would choose the name Apple Pius.

I love that clock. I wanted to get one of those Pope Pius Clocks for the homeless program I volunteer for even though I am the only one who it would make any sense to. But they got us a very handsome new clock that would not make anyone scratch their head. So I got the homeless people a nice icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe instead. Which was probably a better bet, since the first guy who saw it was a black guy who said “the mother of Jesus, right!” and told me sincerely he would like to get a big tattoo of her on his back. I dunno about that but he delighted me anyway. I would not have guessed it when I nervously started volunteering there, but I helplessly love the homeless people.

Haven’t people noticed Father lives at the Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue now!!! And he has to cook on a Bunson burner basically and hang a bird feeder on his window with suction cups. It is part of that Pope Francis poverty. I bet Pope Francis has a suction cup bird feeder and a toaster oven. I bet Fr Z says Mass with frjim4321’s castoff vestments in a chapel that looks like a spaceship. Okay now I am getting silly. I don’t actually believe in frjim4321.

” I wound up giving my clock to a young priest”

    I love puns.

    @Elizabeth D

But whatever happened to Sabine Farm? Was there something we missed?

  11. Elizabeth D says:

I feel confident it is right where it always was. But, there was a time when Fr Z was asking for lots of boxes and bubble wrap through his Amazon wishlist, then there was a time when he was apparently sorting through possessions, including very large amounts of books, and finding new homes for some, like the owl lamps, then there were cooking posts wherein Fr Z did not have access to an actual kitchen, and bird feeder videos wherein the bird feeder was someplace new that did not seem to be Sabine Farm and was hung outside an upper story window with some birch trees and pine trees nearby and occasionally a car would drive by, and there was far less variety of birds. And we started hearing about Father being at the Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue, which is clearly in or near Madison. So, I suspect that Fr Z moved.
