LENTCAzT 11: Ember Saturday 1st Week of Lent

Please use the sharing buttons?  Thanks!

Today is Saturday – Ember Saturday – of the 1st Week of Lent.

Lent is fully underway.  Examine your consciences and…

GO TO CONFESSION!

With this audio offering, I continue a series of daily podcasts for Lent.  They are intended to give you a small boost every day, a little encouragement in your own use of this holy season.

I do this, first and foremost, in thanks to my donors.

PS: Once again, my audio plugin is screwed up.  I hope these are working for you.  And my stats function won’t work either, so I have no idea how many people are listening.  Chime in!

PPS: Today I use a cut from new CD of music for Lent by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles.

  1. Jim of Bowie says:

Father. It wouldn’t play for me in any of the three options.

  2. Angie Mcs says:

Good morning Father. My IPad and Iphone show “cannot play audio file”. This is the first time this has happened.

  3. Problem corrected. Sorry about that.

  4. Facta Non Verba says:

    Educational, once again. Thanks.

  5. guans says:

    “The beautiful monotonies in the life of Christ”- brings smiles;
and Adoramus Te Christe, sings with the angels.

  6. Makemeaspark says:

Thanks so much Father Z, the Dubois Adoramus Te is my all time favorite, I enjoyed singing along. We are performing that tomorrow at mass at 11 am EST, you can tune in on WJIM am The Big talker, online. It is a Novus Ordo mass, however it is probably the most extraordinarily ordinary mass. Lots of Latin, smells and bells! Sorry the incense does not come through the radio though.

  7. lsclerkin says:

    confession this morning. Check.
    Holy Mass, check.
All indulgences claimed and handed to the Blessed Virgin Mary, check.
    sigh. :)

Now you can dismiss your servant in peace, my Lord.

  8. lsclerkin says:

Oh, and this podcast shared. Check.
    Holy monotony.
    I love that.

  9. Angie Mcs says:

Working just fine now, Father, and certainly worth the wait. The music is always so beautiful, as well. Thank you.

  10. Bea says:

    Thank you , Father.
    Holy monotony, beautiful.
No problem hearing it, thanks again.

  11. jameeka says:

Thank you for reading the Gospel of Matthew Transfiguration in both Latin and English–I am noticing a lot of things I never noticed before…

  12. Darren says:

I’m glad you posted this! I ordered this a while ago, got it and out it in a safe place for Lent. I forgot all about it!

  13. markalves says:

The triangular play button worked for me on a Mac. And I went to Confession last week with my son who was a first-timer getting ready for First Communion.

  14. Mike says:

Played in download using Firefox 27.0.1 under Windows 7. The last few seconds got clipped; could have been an issue with my wireless hotspot, which is a little flaky.

  15. Siculum says:

I was using a portable 3G hotspot with some of my tracks, but also cable internet on wifi for some others which also didn’t work. I had actually downloaded the MP3s, but they did cut short. :(

  16. Mariana2 says:

    Thanks, Father!
