Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

Finally, I still have a pressing personal petition. Actually… two.

Please excuse this re- post for this new prayer requests segment.

Please pray for my dearest friend A. in Far North Queensland, Australia, especially over the next 24-36 hours along with her husband A., and her five year old daughter, my God Daughter, B.

They are in the path of Cyclone Ita, a Category #5 storm with winds at its eye in excess of 280km/h (yes, you have read correctly). in her part of FNQ, the windspeeds predicted to hit their neighbourhood will be in excess of 250km/h. They are prepared (as folk tend to be in parts of the world subject to significant and devastating weather events) but it is nonetheless rather nervewracking.

Additionally, my God Daughter B. has significant autism (yes, girls can and do acquire autism, just at a lower rate – ( ten percent the rate of autism in boys). This is her first large cyclone. The sensory issues, not to mention significant routine change plus changed emotional atmosphere in the home will likely be very difficult and disruptive for her. My dear friend has significant sensory issues also so, Fr. Z. and kind readers PLEASE PRAY MIGHTILY FOR THEM, ESPECIALLY A. AND B.

They hope to be received into the Anglican Ordinariate of the Catholic Church this Easter; please pray also that this occurs, that its facilitation will go without a hitch and they are kept safe physically, neurologically and spiritually during Cyclone Ita and aftermath and the coming weeks leading up to their reception into the AO.

St. Ubaldus (sp) pray for them,
Bl. John Paul II, pray for them,
St. Margaret Clitherow, pray for them,
Our Lady of the Southern Cross, pray for them,
Our Lady, undooer of knots, pray for them,
Our Lady, queen of peace, pray for them.

    Blessings,

    Rafqa,
3,000km south of Far North Queensland.
PS: Cyclone Ita is only 12 hours away or so from touchdown.

PPS: I will uphold your prayer requests before the Blessed Sacrament during Adoration later this morning.

  13. benedetta says:

Please pray for the souls who are harassing myself and my family, for my son who is disabled, for those who are caught in the snares of designs which do not aim for the good.

  14. Please keep my kids in your prayers. One desperately needs healing from terrible childhood trauma. She is ensnared in addiction, has seizures, memory loss, and just is in such turmoil.

And for the salvation of my others who are not believers.

I will remember all your intentions as well.

    God bless.

  15. makreitzer says:

I’ve been diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Myasthenia Gravis which causes overall muscle weakness. My worst symptoms at present involve chewing/swallowing and severely distorted speech. I would very much appreciate prayers for improvement but also for acceptance and peace since this is an incurable and progressive illness. I will be praying and offering my challenges for everyone requesting prayers through Fr. Z. God bless you all and thank you.

  16. Mike says:

Prayers lifting on behalf of all!

Please pray for the priests, Bishops and religious of the Courage Apostolate, and for the men and women they serve; and that the reach of the Apostolate not only not be impeded by the current satanic storm of “gay-rights” political correctness, but continue to spread throughout the world to all those who need its graces.

  17. andreat says:

Please pray for my two brothers, that they would return to practice of the Faith.
Also, for my Father-in-Law’s and Sister-in-Law’s respective health issues.

urgent-safe new place to live and a new car that is in excellent condition. Prayers for all of the intentions in the hearts of those who write and read this blog and for Fr Z’s pressing intentions. For all Priests.

  22. Angie Mcs says:

I askfor prayers for one of our young priests, Father B., who suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital last week. The doctors are deciding on further treatment, including bypass surgery, pending several more tests. Father is young, athletic and seems in very good health. He is always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting. We all miss him and will be relieved when he returns. May Our Lord watch over him and give him strength and peace.

Last year we had a serious health scare with our beloved pastor, who is now back but the work seems to wear on him, understandably so. Please pray for all our priests. They have so much to do and must be under such stress these days. May they know how much we love and appreciate them.

My prayers are with you all here, many with small precious children who need us. Mamajen, may you feel better, and may Ambrose’s friend have beautiful days left with her child. Those of you with job worries, friends with addictions, so many needs. I will light a candle for you all this Sunday after mass. I also ask for prayers for a special need of my own. Thank you.

  23. VexillaRegis says:

    Thank you.

I promise to pray for Fr. Z’s intentions, as well as all of yours….and I ask you to keep a very special prayer for a young priest friend of mine in your hearts. And, if you could, my husband’s MS is getting worse….thank you for a prayer for him, too. His name is Michael. God bless you all.

  27. MarthainCanada says:

Pray for the repose of the soul of Donald Hogan, who died at age 81 last Wednesday. He was the godfather for my husband (an adult convert) as well as one of our sons. He was a really faithful, lifelong, offering-it-up kind of Catholic, and very interested in solid catechesis. You knew when you asked him a faith question that you were going to get the genuine article, but he never came off as a sanctimonious, depressing type of person. (You can go to meaningfulfunerals.com to learn more about his life.)

  28. eiggam says:

Lord, listen to our prayers on this list and grant requests if it is your will.

Please pray for my wife who has had swelling on her throat that the doc has not been able to control and wrongly diagnosed as an infection. She is being sent to a specialist and is terribly worried. This is all harder now that I am away on deployment and she’s dealing with all the other stresses that I can’t be home to help her with.

  33. yatzer says:

  38. RafqasRoad says:

    Good News,

My friend A. and family in Far North Queensland got through Cyclone Ita without loss of property or injury, praise be to God!! I believe that your prayers here significantly reduced the negative impacts of this storm, especially upon the population of Cooktown. Thank you!! Please pray for the cleanup and rebuild ( where such is needed); please pray especially for the local Aboriginal population’s banana plantation that was completely ruined – this spells lay-offs for folk already living in difficult circumstances (St. Peter Claver (SP) Pray for them).

Please pray for R., a devout and very kind member of my local parish whose daughter in law faces aggressive breast cancer at only 40 years of age.

Please pray for my dear friend A. that she and her family can be received into the Anglican Ordinariate without impediment this Easter, thus becoming fully incorporated into Holy Mother Church (Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for them).

Finally, please pray for my husband L., that he come back to Catholic Christianity and be impressed from our Lord that he needs Christ’s salvation and Holy Mother Church – this weighs very heavily upon my soul. Please also pray for my family – all atheists or pheau ‘Buddhists’ that they would come back to Christ; they all know the drill, as it were, and have comprehensively rejected it as BS (their words, not mine). This is heartbreaking. Oh, and please, please pray for more priests for our rural parish of seven churches and four priests ( Fr. R. suffering from prostate cancer and desperately in need of healing), one Fr. staying close only to his parish church, and the two remaining priests, Fr. P. and Fr. D. shouldering an impossible load – and doing it with grace, compassion, truth and never a complaint!

Also, pray for either an AO or TLM to be a common, fully integrated feature of our parish life (my money’s on an AO for several cultural and historical reasons here), plus even more reverence in liturgy (its already very good, but striving ever for improvement is no bad thing).

In closing, I have learnt that we are due a new hymnal this year and I know one of the liturgical music movers and shakers who would be working on it. I bumped into her at my graduation last week (I am now a newly minted B.Theol) to which I in conversation mentioned how excited I am for this new hymnal to be coming, asking for more Sullivan, Britton, Tavenner (both of them), Parry, Howells, and LESS Haugan and Hass!! She heartily agreed with me that such would be a vast improvement so join me in prayer, please that our Australian Hymnal when released will be much, much better and far more reverent/beautiful/appropriate than what we currently endure.

Blessings and praying for all here,

    Rafqa.

  39. Mike says:

For a successful commencement of therapy this Thursday.

  40. HeatherPA says:

Prayers for all and Fr. Z~
Please pray that my husband will get one of the jobs he submitted his resume for, as he is currently working 4 1/2 hours from home and coming home on weekends. Also, if I may also ask for prayers for my health, as I just found out I am pregnant with twins, due in November. We were surprised, as I am still recovering physically and emotionally from losing our little girl who was born prematurely in October and passed away. I am almost 40, so these babies are an especial gift from God, and we are excited but just worried and anxious for my health and hoping that we don’t lose these guys. I don’t think I can shoulder another loss.
One last request- that my oldest son, who is going off to college in the fall, to Mount St. Mary’s, is called to the priesthood. Thanks!

  41. Mariana2 says:

Praying for all of the above intentions.

  42. JonPatrick says:

Please pray for my youngest son who next month is traveling to a FFI Friary to spend a week as part of discernment of a vocation.

  43. Skeinster says:

Our parish was asked to pray for Jason, father of nine, and his family. He suffered a major brain injury in an accident.
And may I request prayers for our youngest daughter, who is also recovering from a closed head injury, especially that her sight may be fully restored.
It is a privilege to pray for all the needs, here.

  44. VexillaRegis says:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for praying for me! On Tuesday I was told, that there was no possibility for a new position at my current workplace, but then, suddenly, this very morning, the highest boss intervened, said “we really need your services” and offered me a new job on the spot! I’m still in shock at 10 PM :-)! God bless you all!

  45. I will add these intentions to my rosary – and yours, Fr. Z.
    Heather, congrats!
May I please ask for prayers that the Lord keep and strengthen me in my vocation. And for someone to be freed from a habitual sin. Thank you.

  46. LaxMom25 says:

Friends, please know that I pray for all your requests and needs.
We are all so blessed to have one another.
Please pray for my oldest son, who is having a very difficult time deciding which college to attend in the fall. Praying that the Holy Ghost will share His gifts and fruits with my son. Praying that I can accept God’s will for all my children in their education and vocations. Thank you all so much.
