AC-DC or Transgender Comics

There is, you should know to your horror, a trend in catholic “theology”, written by subversives, to “queer” theology.  Nothing is sacred.

You all know what is going on in society as a whole.

So, even as I remind the readership of the queering of the DC comic character Green Lantern – poor Green Lantern – now I note Marvel’s deeply stupid act of one-upsmanship as they are poised to tran Thor.

Yes, Thor, son of Odin, is to be … what… Thoretta? No! Still, “Thor”. Why should sex and gender actually coincide? Aren’t we beyond all that?

Instead of releasing this news on Wōdnesdæg, they should have released this news on Þunresdæg, now to be known as Thorettaday.

This October, Marvel Comics evolves once again in one of the most shocking and exciting changes ever to shake one of Marvel’s “big three” – Captain American, Iron Man and Thor – Marvel Comics will be introducing an all-new THOR, GOD OF THUNDER. No longer is the classic male hero able to hold the mighty hammer, Mjölnir, a brand new female hero will emerge who will be worthy of the name THOR. Who is she? Where did she come from and what is her connection to Asgard and the Marvel Universe?

“The inscription on Thor’s hammer reads ‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if HE [HE!] be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.’ Well it’s time to update that inscription,” says Marvel editor Wil Moss. “The new Thor continues Marvel’s proud tradition of strong female characters like Captain Marvel, [HUH?] Storm, Black Widow and more. And this new Thor isn’t a temporary female substitute [Ummm….] – she’s now the one and only Thor, and she is worthy!”

Series writer Jason Aaron emphasizes, “This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is THOR. This is theTHOR of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before.”  [Nope.]

Fail. It’s enough to make you want to get hammered.

I suppose fake Thor will be lesbian, too.

I wonder if this is something that will be forced on Thor, or if Thor is choosing to get himself … altered.

All this to make 3 % of the population of our country feel good about themselves? Talk about the tail wagging the dog! And while we are on the subject; LEAVE MY DOG ALONE. I know what’s next in sexual aberrations and you ain’t getting her!

  2. incredulous says:

How strangely bizarre can we become as a totally decadent society?

The Bride, with all her blemished people, yet pure doctrine obtained from Our Creator, is a moment of sobriety in a hurricane of drunken depravity that surrounds us daily. How blessed we are to be Catholics. Please, God, inspire us all to glorify you and bring more of your children back to you.

The Church is the only rock there is to stand on as this creepy and outrageous bizarreness darkens our horizons warning us of the tempest approaching.

Consecrate yourself to Jesus through Mary. Follow the footsteps of JPII, Demontfort, Kolbe, etc. Align yourself with Our Lady of Victories and boldly fight.

Who cares? If someone wants to reboot Xena with Zeno Warrior Prince and his sidekick Gabriel then let the fans decide if they will buy it or not. If it fails they can reboot again.

How many times have they retold Superman’s story?

Let us have a Black Widow Maker Nikoli Romanov.

  4. Kathleen10 says:

Yesterday my eyes fell out and rolled across the floor as I read that Archie Andrews, yes, Archie of Riverdale High, will die. He may already be dead. He died “taking a bullet for his gay friend”.
This stuff reminds me of performers like Miley Cyrus, so completely desperate for attention that going gay is all they can come up with. But gayness will lose it’s cool, it’s just trendy now. It will leave an indelible mark on the culture and kids however, but it will lose it’s cool factor.

[Speaking of “leaving a mark”, I think it also opens the way to demonic oppression, if not worse.]

  5. Kathleen10 says:

Of course we all see how gay people are often shot for being gay. Yes that happens every day, according to people who dream up these things.

  6. greenlight says:

As a lifelong comics nerd I can attest that this is probably 5% political/cultural activism, 95% sales-whoring sensationalism. Decades ago it was putting stupid, outlandish story ideas on the cover to get you to buy the book (Superman’s turned into a criminal!?! I must buy this!!). The inside rarely satisfied.

Throughout the 90’s it was having someone important die. Just long enough to get your name into the news cycle for awhile, milk it for a year or so, and then find some way to bring them back, to yet more fanfare.

Now it’s PC dogma. This guy’s gay. That guy’s a lady. So-and-so’s a transgendered, Muslim, vegan. If you ask me, they really overplayed their hand with the latest Archie nonsense which comes off like a bad parody. They want your outrage but deserve nothing but mockery.

A nearby university has a Brahman Bull as the school mascot. This talk about a female Thor reminded me what they call the women athletes there, “Lady Bulls”. Oxy-moron!

  8. Legisperitus says:

Father, I’m afraid when you failed to raise the alarm against a female Starbuck, you became part of the problem. ;-)

On which numbered Earth is this?

  10. Elizabeth D says:

One of the Catholic schools that has a Sinsinawa Dominican presence has female sports teams called Lady Cardinals. News of their successes, needless to say, never fails to give special pleasure to the sisters.

I tend to agree with Ben Kakov. The small regret I feel is only the same sentimentality I get when I clean out the garage. Yes, this was once a nice thing, but what I thought was beauty was false and it is now just trash. And that is all it ever really was. Pitch it and move on. There are real treasures to maintain.

  12. Gregorius says:

I think too much is being read into this. All it is is one character losing Thor’s power and another gaining it. I thought they’ve been trying to distance the character from the historical character anyway, and if so they can make up whatever story they want. Is it a bit contrived for that one guy to suddenly lose his powers? Maybe, but we’ll see how fans like it.
Also, Captain Marvel in Marvel comics is different from the DC comics character.
Also also, DC retconned Alan Scott, who while chronologically the first lantern is a rather insignificant character compared to the more popular Hal Jordan, the guy most people think of when they think Green Lantern. Hal’s relationship with Carol Ferris is to canonically ingrained, especially since she’s also got superhuman powers. It’s all Politically Correct, but I don’t think its specifically pushing any LGBT agenda.

  13. Johnno says:

Is it confirmed to be some transgendered thing? Or is it due to a variety of comic-booky reasons?

    – Another women gets granted Thor’s powers?
    – Some time warp thing where in some other dimension Thor was born as a woman?
    – Some kind of contrived body-swap by necessity thing, like what occurred with the Superior Spider-Man arc?

Perhaps we shouldn’t jump the gun here, but none the less, both Marvel/DC and Archie comics are as left-leaning and subtly anti-Christian as they come and there are many things scattered across their pages that prove it.

  14. LarryW2LJ says:

    Argh!

I hated when Marvel messed around with Spiderman and now they’re going to wreck Thor. I’ve also read snippets where it looks like Falcon will be taking on the role of Captain America.

Can’t Marvel and DC leave well enough alone?

  15. spock says:

Perhaps Thor’s “Mighty Hammer” should be replaced with the “Mighty Coach Purse”

I’m having visions of “Aunt Esther” from “Sanford and Son” beating poor Fred over the head with the “Mighty Coach Purse” screaming “heathen, heathen” etc.

I expect all of the proud Scandinavian countries to go to war with the US over this issue.

  16. Papabile says:

I do not believe for a second that this will endure.

To the person who asked which Earth is this…. Earth 2 is a DC construct – that’s where Green Lantern went sodomitic.

Most of the Marvel universe happens on Earth-616. I have a feeling they are going to do this in the Earth-616 universe.

There are other known universes in Marvel though, to include Earth-1610, Earth-555, and Earth-982 seem to be the other main lines.

There’s your geeky references for the day….

  17. The Masked Chicken says:

“Most of the Marvel universe happens on Earth-616. I have a feeling they are going to do this in the Earth-616 universe.”

No. They will, almost certainly, do it in the Earth-666 universe.

This is no longer a comic book magazine for the geeks…
Or a fanzine for the people…
It is a Thorazine for the masses…

(just a little inside joke for the psychologists)

Perhaps someone wasn’t taking their Thorazine, eh?

    The Chicken

  18. wmeyer says:

As a kid, and despite my mother’s disparaging views of them, I enjoyed many comic books. Not “graphic novels”, a term dreamed up to in some way enhance the credibility of a unique sort of story form, but comic books. Superman, Batman, Blackhawk, The Flash, and various others.

When I saw the casting of Tobey Maguire as Spiderman, I gagged.

Had I any children now who are of the age at which I read comics, I would do all that I could to keep such things away from them. Earth-666 it is.

  19. BLB Oregon says:

I wish I could count the number of times the story of the Emperor’s New Clothes has come to mind in the last year or so. What would that young man say?

    “That isn’t Thor. I don’t get it. Where’s Thor?”
