YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use the sharing buttons! Thanks!

Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

I still have a pressing personal petition. Actually… two.

Especially… pray for the poor suffering Christians in Iraq!

Sts. Nunilo and Alodia, pray for us!

For MT, whose disease was thought gone but has come back such that absent the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Peregrine to seek a miracle from Our Lord there seems to be no hope. Please pray for her.

  2. Liz says:

Please pray for two of my children who have been having on-going health problems. I know it is nothing compared to some of the other things happening in the world right now, but it’s the discouraging, day-in-day-out worrisome and wearying type. Thank you. Will be praying for all of your intentions. God bless you.

  3. iPadre says:

Please pray for my daughter, Ellen, who has a severe mental illness. She is away from the church and leading an immoral life. Pray that Jesus will bring someone into her life to lead her back to a life of goodness and beauty. Also, pray for my oldest son who is in college and has lost his faith.

  9. Mike says:

A neighbor of mine is a nonagenerian whose bodily health lately has lagged that of her formidable mind. She’s had several falls recently and is now in rehab for the second time in as many months. Please pray for peace of soul for her as she adjusts to the real possibility that she may never again live on her own.

  10. benedetta says:

Our family incurred serious debt some years back when we had to flee the place we were living due to the harassment following the stances we took as Catholics. As a result we are often unable to pay for some basic needs and rely on others to get through which is difficult. It’s one thing for adults to take all this on for themselves willingly but it’s another to sacrifice an innocent child’s health and well being.

  11. jameeka says:

For a special intention. Thank you.

  12. Gregg the Obscure says:

For my wife Catherine whose health problems are worsening. In addition, the combination of sleep deprivation and side effects of pain medicines have made her prone to severe confusion.

  13. Menagerie says:

For my son David, recently released from the hospital, and facing grueling working conditions while recovering.

  14. AvantiBev says:

For my co-worker Pam who is undergoing knee surgery today with more to come in the future. She has also suffered 2 heart attacks in the past so I worry about the anesthesia’s effects. St. Luke pray for that surgeon and surgical team as well as Pam; guide their minds and hands.

Praying for all of your intentions.

Please pray for two pressing problems of mine to be solved.

  16. Suburbanbanshee says:

For a good job or good self-employment. Also, for help with keeping my spirits up and controlling my temper.

  17. Chris Garton-Zavesky says:

For my brother (a neurosurgeon), injured in a climbing accident.

For the lukewarm, and for fallen away Catholics, both those who have left the Church and those who are the “walking dead”, For the conversion of elderly non-Catholics.

For a friend and his family, since their home repair bills seem to have no end.

  18. Supertradmum says:

I pray for all those above. Many serious needs, indeed. Some of those requests make my personal one’s look small.

Pray I find a permanent home, being peripatetic for over three years now. Pray for serious computer problems. One died and the new one was immediately infected with a virus which a computer guy worked on for two hours and the virus is still hiding somewhere–trying a complete restart.

For my health and the conversion of my three atheists brothers.

Also, please remember my son the seminarian. It is hard being a seminarian these days for many reasons.

  19. Jenny says:

For my husband to find employment that will support our family after a lengthy employment gap.

  20. JesusFreak84 says:

Is there a way to submit prayer requests anonymously? At least anonymously to other readers, anyway.

  21. lizaanne says:

For a very close family member visiting an attorney this morning about possible divorce proceedings. Please pray hearts are moved and good sense prevails to keep this couple together. They are not Catholic – pray also for their conversion. Thank you all so much.

  22. NoraLee9 says:

Will remember all intentions tonight in my rosary. You all prayed for me and my family and “all’s well that ends well.” I am sure out petitions will be heard.

For me–I’m having surgery next week.

  25. kford says:

For a good friend and coworker who is having his kidney removed tomorrow, and for me while I do both of our jobs simultaneously.

  26. aviva meriam says:

    For Seminarians everywhere.
For Heather, as she seeks to rebuild her life.

  28. HeatherPA says:

Adding all the mentioned needs and intentions to my night prayer.

Please pray my husband gets the job he is trying very hard to, if he does we will finally be living again under the same roof as a family after 5 years, being geographically separated because of his work.

Also please pray my oldest son finds a good support system when he goes to Mount St. Mary’s as a freshman in two weeks. He is socially awkward and somewhat introverted, but a good hearted and smart kid.
    God bless you all.

  29. FloridaJoan says:

Prayers PLEASE for my first Grandchild ( Grandson ) who seems to have lost his way. He always had a special place in his heart for Our Lady of Guadalupe.

    pax et bonum

  30. Rachel K says:

Praying for all the intentions and asking for your ongoing prayers for my situation please.
My husband has lived away from the family home for six months now and there is some good evidence that he is engaged in some kind of “liaison” now with another woman.
The children and I do not have quite enough money to live on, my husband is not giving us quite enough, despite a very large salary. Here in the UK it is not easy to sort out financial issues separately from going through a divorce as the law regarding finances is tied to the marriage laws, so the law pushes people into this . I do not want to go down this route but am relying on his goodwill at the moment and there does not seem to be much of it. The mortgage has nearly defaulted twice. My children are young, aged 14, 10, 6 and 3 and the youngest has Down Syndrome.
I am praying for complete restoration of our marriage and family but it will need some great graces and a good response to them. I thank God that he has kept us safe thus far.

  31. OrthodoxChick says:

So many serious needs and petitions. I will say a rosary tonight for all above. Please also include a petition in your prayers for the repose of the soul of my oldest son’s classmate, Matt. He was 16 and only a few weeks away from beginning his junior year in high school. He was fatally shot in the head this past Tuesday night by an acquaintance who was carelessly mishandling a rifle. The school just gave us the sad news a few minutes ago.

  32. Sissy says:

I have read all of the prayer requests, and I am humbled by the patience with which so many crosses are borne by my brothers and sisters. I write only to say that I am praying for all the intentions mentioned here. May we always remember that all of our days are in His merciful hands; His love will surely see us through these trials and those of the coming days.

  33. zag4christ says:

    Please pray for:
Son who has fallen away from the faith.
    Wife who has no faith.
Sister who has fallen away from the faith.
Repose of my mother and father soul’s.
I will remember all of the prayer requests here when I say my nightly prayers.

  34. poohbear says:

HeatherPA: is that Mount St Mary’s in New York state? That is where I went to college oh so many years ago.

I pray daily for the intentions posted on this blog.

  35. HeatherPA says:

    @poohbear-
No, it’s Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, where the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes is.

  36. LeslieL says:

I promise you all that you and your petitions are held in my heart and in my prayers –
and I ask you yet again to keep a deeply held special intention in your prayers and heart for a dear young priest friend of mine, Fr. JM.
I also ask that you keep my husband Mike in your prayers as his MS is worsening and becoming more and more debilitating. He was a sportsman and avid reader – now can barely walk, and his vision is deserting him. He has had to take “early” retirement (no disability for the Feds) from a job he dearly loved.
I know I asked you to keep my friend Kerry in your prayers, too (her brother (age 50ish) has had a severe stroke, was recuperating, and is now backsliding; her son, age 19, has been diagnosed with schizophrenic paranoia and is hospitalized for the 4th time this year. Her husband left her some time ago). I had asked for prayers for her mom last month – suffering from stage 4 lung cancer…Anne passed away last Sunday.
Thank you so much – God bless you all! And truly – I keep Fr. Z’s special intentions and all of yours in my prayers, too….

  37. jfk03 says:

I am touched by all these requests and will pray to The Lord Jesus and his blessed mother for all of you. Please pray for me, that I may flee from sin, and that my wife and son may return to the sacraments. Pray also that the Holy Spirit may enlighten Fr. Z and all other priests in their mission.

  38. friarpark says:

For everyone dealing with dementia in a loved one. Our family is going through that with my Father in Law. Please pray for him, his wife, his daughter (my wife) and the rest of the family as we have tough decisions to make.

  39. xgenerationcatholic says:

Please pray for me as I seem to have lost my way after a year of changes and loss and decisions.

  40. Mariana2 says:

Praying for all of the above.

Last time I asked “Please pray for me, that the new therapist I will see on Monday may be able to help me.”

My humble thanks to all for your kind prayers, the new therapist has been of immense help!

  41. visigrad says:

For my daughter who has been doctoring for a pierced trigeminal nerve , known as the suicide nerve because of the severe pain. Thanks to new government regulations there has been a mix up in prescription orders and she cannot have her meds renewed for another week. She is in agony..she is the mother of 11 children. PLEASE beg Jesus to provide a solution TODAY

  42. donboyle says:

Please pray for the St. John Bosco Academy building campaign. We’re a hybrid (part in-school, part homeschool) Catholic pre-K to high school in the north Atlanta suburbs. We have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to secure a building of our own and get out of rented space. If you’re so moved, there’s information on contributing here:

    http://sjbacademy.causevox.com/

I’ll pray for all your intentions. God bless.

  43. ByzCath08 says:

For my mother diagnosed and starting treatment for Stage III ovarian cancer.

  44. StJude says:

Can you pray for my sister, K. She needs to know Jesus has not left her in her present life crisis. She is hurting.. her kids are hurting.

  45. Suburbanbanshee says:

For the person asking about anonymity —

You could email Fr. Z and ask him to post your request anonymously. Or you could post your request as just “my intention” or “a serious problem,” or something very vague like that. God will know your intention, and we will be happy to pray for you without knowing specifics.

  46. Lucy C says:

Please pray for my nephew’s son, Victor (13 years old), who is being treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Also, please remember my sister-in-law, Joyce in your prayers. She has some health issues and this situation is complicated by the fact that she is her elderly mother’s care-giver. Please also pray for two friends from our parish, Monica and Eva, for healing and health.

  47. SKAY says:

Please pray for my son-in-law’s mother Frances. She has been dealing with a serious heart condition and has just found out that she now has lung cancer–brought on by the radiation treatments for her successful fight with breast cancer years ago. She is back in the hospital tonight.

I will remember everyone’s request in my prayers.

  48. jfk03 says:

Please remember Tom, who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Holy martyr Lawrence, pray to God for him.

  49. Will499 says:

Please pray for my grandmother who is unresponsive and about to die probably within a few hours.

  50. The Sicilian Woman says:

Your intentions have been added to my Rosary! God bless you all! (Hello VexillaRegis!)

  51. VexillaRegis says:

Dear Sicilian Woman, :-) I pray for your relatives to have a profound conversion of heart(s) and for your health to improve. Hugs!

  52. ByzCath08 says:

To bring some happiness to my prior post. We had our priest over tonight for dinner and to give a blessing to my mother before she starts chemotherapy tomorrow. Father spent some time with her and she finally expressed an interest in becoming Catholic. (My Dad was Catholic; she was methodist)

She will make her profession of faith, first confession, be chrismated and receive the eucharist on 9/13, the Saturday before the Exaltation of The Holy Cross.

    Glory to Jesus Christ!

For a friend of mine’s brother who is seeking separation from his wife–both Catholic, with two young children.
For a newly ordained priest who struggles with depression and has lost his fervor and zeal.
For a friend who is beginning a battle against Stage III Breast Cancer.

  55. aviva meriam says:

I will pray for all of these intentions.

Please keep me in your prayers: I am attempting to discern God’s will…. and desperately need not only God’s guidance and forgiveness but also for God’s assistance. I am struggling with three urgent situations and humbly place those petitions before His throne.

  56. kevinm says:

I will light a candle at Mass today for all of these intentions. I do ask you all to offer a prayer to St. Joseph, or St. Rita, or St. Jude or the Blessed Mother today for me as I am facing a dire financial burden/situation.

    Thank you,

    Kevin
