Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below.

You have to be registered here to be able to post.

I still have a pressing personal petition.  Two, in fact.

  1. From my email this morning:

    Father Z,

The pastor of my parish (St. Joseph in Fort Collins, Colorado) has been battling cancer for a few years and has entered hospice care tonight. He is beloved and is a good and holy priest. Will you please pray for him? A link to the parish website with some more info is below.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for him!

  2. VexillaRegis says:

Our cat, Auntie Olga, has been missing for three days now. Please pray for her to come home soon!
I also have a pressing personal intention.
Prayers for my parish would also be very much appreciated.
I will pray for all of you.

  3. Quanah says:

    1. For the unborn in danger of abortion and for their mothers.

    2. For all the students, faculty, and staff where I teach.

    God bless you all.

  4. un-ionized says:

That I can somehow stay in the Church despite abuse by a sociopathic priest. Might be better off elsewhere, especially when his friends have piled on too.

  5. visigrad says:

For a friend in need of protection from all evil !!!

  6. John Grammaticus says:

I have a job interview on Friday 16th

  7. aviva meriam says:

    Please pray for my son: that he can find the fortitude to succeed in his military program;
Please pray for my family: we have two pressing financial issues we need to resolve, and have hit unexpected road-blocks this week.
Also, my job is dependent upon funding for our current project… please pray that it comes through.

  8. AnAmericanMother says:

Please pray for the repose of the soul of my husband, and that our former home will sell quickly so that I can afford a smaller place.

  9. VexillaRegis says:

Dear AnAmericanMother, I’m so sorry to hear that your husband has passed away. I’ve wondered what happened to you as you were a frequent poster on here. You and your husband are in my prayers.

  10. Polycarpio says:

I will pray for all these intentions and especially for those of pastor of St. Joseph’s in Fort Collins, CO, and for those of AnAmericanMother, to whom I extend heartfelt condolences. In return, please pray for a middle aged family friend who has fallen into a cancer-induced coma (friends and family expect that she will not last more than a few days), and I ask that you kindly do this through the intercession of Bl. Oscar Romero if you can.

  11. MaryW says:

Please pray for my beautiful 17 yr. old niece S. who attempted to end her life this past week, but thanks be to God failed. She is safe now in a treatment facility. Family is seeking faithful Christian medical personnel. I will add the above requests to my prayer list. American mother so sorry for your loss.

  12. Supertradmum says:

    AmericanMother, prayers

Please pray for two young mothers, both very ill with two different diseases, but each have a young child. Both women are in danger of death.

  13. Nan says:

Please pray for my sister Janet, dying of cancer but holding to life by a thread. The hospice nurse today expressed surprise that Janet has remained on her schedule these last three days. She isn’t religious, didn’t want a priest but has a green scapular and is watched over by a picture of St Therese which she inexplicably bought a few years ago.

I’ll pray for all of your intentions especially for her fellow sufferers.

  14. NancyP says:

Please pray for all young people who carry the crosses of anxiety and self-destructive thoughts, especially my daughter’s friend – he had suicidal thoughts this week, but, thankfully, told friends and family how he was feeling. Please pray that he can get the help he needs to see himself as a beloved child of God.

  15. john_6_fan says:

Received word this afternoon that Father Steven Voss at St. Joseph’s in Fort Collins mentioned above, has passed away. He was my pastor and my friend. A good and holy priest. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.

  16. Mariana2 says:

Dear AnAmericanMother, I am so sorry for your loss.

Praying for all the above intentions, and, later, for any below.

Please pray for my brother, who needs to be in a home, my husband, who needs to become Catholic, and my son, who needs to grow up.

  17. HeatherPA says:

Prayers said for all intentions listed here.
Please pray for my oldest son and 18 yo daughter. They are making terrible decisions and endangering their salvation. Especially our daughter, who is being encouraged by Catholic adults influenced by the Francis effect to accept demonic gender and actuality ideologies.

Please pray that my parish priest remains fervent and orthodox and our parish starts to appreciate the truth he tells us.

  18. Allan S. says:

Please pray for my son, who may be about to be failed out from university and most desperately needs to either change his program of study or somehow succeed to meet seemingly impossible academic terms in his current course.

Please pray for my mother, facing her third cancer surgery this coming week, and is a widow beset by those seeking to take advantage of her.

Please pray for me, suffering severely in mind and body and tempted to despair.

    Deus in adiutórium meum inténde..

  19. FloridaJoan says:

Rosary offered this morning for all. May He hold us all in His merciful heart.

    Pax et bonum

  20. andia says:

The parish where a friend of mine is a priest is a “merged” parish –the “merger” happened in 2010 and they are still so divided they can NOT handle it if there are more pictures of one worship site than the other — or even if the parish phone number is closer to one site than the other on a website. IT’s worse for things that actually matter, but you get the idea. There have been comments to the new organist over the use of Greek and Latin during Mass. and even a temper tantrum ( by an adult over it) – they have made the newly confirmed kids unwelcome in ministries – refusing to even schedule them and more. Please fray for this parish in Buffalo, NY and for Fr Bryan as he tries to bring healing to a deeply divided parish.
    Thanks

  21. DanS says:

I just finished saying a Divine Mercy for each of your intentions. Jesus I trust in You!

  22. Update on the dying priest for whom we had a petition for prayers, above:

    Fr. Z,

I wanted to write and say thanks for posting my prayer request
regarding my parish priest who went into hospice after battle cancer
for years. Not sure if you saw it, but he passed away peacefully on
    Saturday afternoon.

He was only in his 30s, but was among the new generation of priests
that give me hope for the future. When my wife and young daughters
opted to start veiling for Holy Mass (reverent Novus Ordo), he sought
her out after Mass at coffee and donuts. He noted that he’d seen her
and the girls wearing them, thanked her for doing so, and stated he
hoped it would give other women the courage to do the same. I thought
    that was excellent.

Again, thanks for posting it. The prayers of you and your readers no
doubt provided him comfort in the end.

  23. JesusFreak84 says:

    * My best friend’s college roommate’s father just passed away.

    * One of the middle schoolers at the (Protestant) school my (atheist) sister is a paraprofessional at, a school for SEVERELY special-needs kids, was injured in a drowning accident some weeks ago and the parents recently turned off the machines.

    * The job situation and the hunt for a new job both get worse by the day.

  24. mo7 says:

For my son who will be leaving on his first on his first ship as a professional 3rd engineer. Also remember all merchant seaman who are away from their families and Mass for extended periods of time. [Merchant seaman have no chaplain].

  25. un-ionized says:

andia, I am sorry. Please stick with it, they need a person of common sense, which I think you are, judging by other posts of yours. I remember what you said about being shut out. The same thing happened to me but it led to other things that were much more important.

  26. un-ionized says:

andia, I neglected to say what I have discovered many times, that whenever I have been shut out, shunned, etc. it has been because God was apparently trying to spare me contact with wickedness.

  27. andia says:

    Thanks un-ionized! I appreciate that

  28. un-ionized says:

I wish we could “have coffee.”

  29. Please remember in your prayers DS, just diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (a forerunner of Leukemia). He is about to undergo unspeakable treatments which will require lots of time in the hospital.

  30. Quanah says:

For a friend’s mother, who is getting a mass tested at 1 p.m. today (now). Praying that it is not cancerous.

  31. CaliCatholicGuy says:

For my unborn child we lost to miscarriage on Tuesday. For my wife and I that we can be strong for our son here with us on earth and if it be the will of God to conceive again and carry to full term.

  32. mpmaron says:

Please pray that my sister gets a suitable employment soon. Thank you.

  33. Maynardus says:

I am hesitant to ask for prayers for myself, but I learned on 29 August that I will need a cardiac bypass operation this month… two days later I learned that my job (IT professional) is being sent to India, after 16 years of service I will receive one month of severance if I work for the next three months. I realize that nothing in our lives can happen without God’s consent so I am hopeful that the Good Lord is simply fitting me out for some new challenge. Given the twin challenges of health and employment, and as the father of six, I cannot think of a better saint that St. Joseph to intercede on my behalf! Thanks and God bless

  34. un-ionized says:

Maynardus, what looks like an abyss in front of you will be tilted up and become a horizon.

  35. AnAmericanMother says:

Thank you all. I will remember your intentions in my Rosary.
Our young parochial vicar, who is one of the new generation on fire for Christ and the Church, dropped everything when he learned that my husband’s life was despaired of – rushed to the hospital, heard his confession, absolved him, gave him the viaticum and the Apostolic Pardon.
    I am so thankful!

  36. Nan says:

Please pray for the repose of my sister’s soul. She died on the 12th. I did everything I could for her soul, despite her disinterest in seeing a priest.

  37. Fr. Reader says:

Again, for the vocation of Mr Chen and Mr Chao.

  38. JonPatrick says:

Maynardus I had that operation (double bypass) in 2007. Took me about 6 weeks to recover, I was depressed and angry. In the long term it made me realize that I was mortal and would die someday maybe sooner than I expected so I needed to get my act together. That led me to start attending a newly formed Extraordinary Form Mass at a nearby town and to start going to confession regularly. I will keep you in my prayers.

Please pray for my youngest son who is discerning a vocation to the religious life.
For the pastor of a church we attend periodically, who just lost his brother and for the repose of the soul of said brother.
