Fishwrap rots from the head down

I am sure that by now you have heard about how the anti-Catholic Clinton campaign’s anti-Catholic manager John Podesta helped foment dissent in the Church and revolt by establishing anti-Catholic, catholic organizations.  HERE  Undermine the Church as a moral force, push her to squander her moral capital by getting her pastors to water down Catholic teaching and you remove an obstacle to garnering by hook or crook more votes for dem candidates. It’s a tried and true method.

I saw today an interesting email released by Wikileaks about Podesta’s efforts, through one of his minions.  HERE It mentions some interesting catholic entities.

Read the whole thing.  Take note of the prominent role of the Fishwrap and Commonwelt.

This must be the longest running rot in history. They were sanctioned when, 1968? So 48 years later, still posing as Catholic, and carrying water for Soros and company.

I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you!

  2. jameeka says:

Yes, read the whole thing. Eye-opening.

  3. Dimitri_Cavalli says:

As someone who enjoys fishing and noting that a number of the Apostles were fishermen, can’t you come up with something better than “Fishwrap” to refer to NCR?

I would never wrap my catch with pages of NCR. (Is the paper even worth recycling?)

  4. WVC says:

    Dimitri_Cavalli,

How about Birdcage Liner? that or Puppy Potty Pad?

We the few; the hidden; the muzzled; just called it “The Distorter” back in those halcyon days of 1980’s seminary. Its pages made great litter box or bird cage linings; tinder; that sort of thing.

    creepy

For anyone who works for government, the democrats arrogant blatant assault and persecution against the traditionalist Catholic is nothing new. Those traditionalists are being assaulted by both those “new wave priests of the pulpit”, and the government that does so much clandestinely to promote them. Propaganda, propaganda, propaganda. How difficult is it for the Catholics who is persecuted by of their own? This is nothing new, you priests are not screaming loudly against it. Scream! Biden, Pelosi, Kane, Cuomo, Dolan.

  9. Joseph-Mary says:

So many led astray and ripe for the taking for many reasons.

Some of the general history, in an e-mail from Fishwrapper Michael Sean Winters, & via the Jesuits at Amerika magazine, from the wikileaks :

    Color me completely unsurprised.

P.S. We called it the “Nasty Critical Rag” in my studium days.

  12. Prayerful says:

Commonweal effects an air of urbanity, but grasps every possible opportunity to smear and malign Tradition. In around 2014, they ran a derivative series on Fr Carlos Urrutigoity, a priest strongly suspected of sexual predation and immense moral turpitude, offering little that was not known a decade earlier. The commenters used the combox to malign and link everyone Traditional they could think of, to Urrutigoity, like the SSPX, or even Fr Z, apparently somehow the relations between the priest and his ordinary were supposedly similar ‘minus the criminality’ the commenter at least added. That explained the purpose of that unoriginal series. Reading the comments there makes a person queasy.

  13. DeGaulle says:

National Catlitter Reporter (such paper makes good litter when shredded and both the shredding and the cats’ urine should safely ensure nobody will read it)?

  14. majuscule says:

Thanks JabbaPappa for the wikileaks link. I was having fun clicking around…

This was not at all surprising:

Attaching for your review a draft op-ed from HRC reflecting on the Pope’s message on climate change. The intent is to place this ASAP this week in the National Catholic Reporter, which reached out asking for a reflection on faith and the Pope’s political message.

I don’t imagine they have ever reached out to Fr. Z (or any other traditional Catholic) for a reflection.

You can read the email here. It’s down below the Suggestion to use the faith community wording of being “stewards of the earth” or “caretakers”.

    “National Catlitter Reporter”

A man should do better by his cat, the noble creature. Ditto dogs (though slightly less dignified IMO).

    Tinder, definitely tinder.

  16. benedetta says:

There already was a “Catholic Spring” actually. It even has a name: Pentecost. And it is still no less new or at work today, whether people who would scapegoat Catholics for their own selfish short term corrupt gain choose to believe or not.

  17. AnnTherese says:

I was going to use our diocesan newspaper to line my canary cage a while ago, but couldn’t do it because “God” and “Jesus” were printed on every page. Seemed sacrilegious–tempting as it was. I just cancelled my subscription. Why read something if it upsets you so much??

  18. benedetta says:

AnnTherese is somewhat right here that reading, if it is “upsetting”, isn’t that great. But, one reads to know, and understand. In this case, the reading confirms what many of us detected less formally eight or nine years ago: that a certain coterie in power would be using hatred towards Catholics as the fundamental animating principle and thought process in propaganda. So, it is important to still read even, maybe especially if, the content is deeply disturbing. It should move us to action. This group can no longer target Catholics, particularly our youth, in the Alinsky freeze process. Division doesn’t work. Massive irony with the “stronger together” thing. “Stronger without Catholics” is the truth and reality on message here with these elitist 1%ers.

  19. Fr. Vincent Fitzpatrick says:

Fr Z.: One of your best inventions is the word “katholyk.” You should use it more.

  20. Dimitri_Cavalli says:

I appreciate the responses to my comment. But using NCR to line a bird cage, etc. could be animal abuse.

  21. Wasn’t Catholic ‘Spring’ promised with the opening of the Council of Vatican II? My mother described the eager excitement of the whole Church in the late 50s, early 60s as the rumors of an upcoming Council brought promises to re-invigorate and freshen the Church. But alas, the reality was very different.

Kinda like Obama’s vague “Hope and Change” could mean anything to anybody, yet without positive substance. More like “Despair and Tyranny”.

This twisted terminology is a well-worn practice of subversives.

  22. And so you see from WikiLeaks that just because we are paranoid doesn’t mean they AREN’T after us.
This stuff vindicates the conspiracists and the stories of ‘occupation’ in the Church now doesn’t it.

Everything is connected: young Tradinistas eager to combine socialism with Catholicism yet ignorant of the historic dangers of communism and socialism, the rise of Putin and Cuba worship, media control by the Left, the growing acceptance of socialism in America, the weakening of the Church through social change, corrupt law, dependence on government funding, poor catechisis, scandal, etc. If you haven’t seen the video by Project Veritas Action, an undercover report on the rigging of the voter registration process and the vote itself, it is an eye opener. #1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IuJGHuIkzY.

I refused for a long time to believe the American system was this corrupt. The rot is so far gone, so widespread. Only God can prevent an amputation.
