WAR! Pope Francis on marriage’s enemy: Gender Theory

In October 2015 Card. Sarah said during the Synod on the Family (HERE):

What Nazi-Fascism and Communism were in the 20th century, Western homosexual and abortion Ideologies and Islamic Fanaticism are today.

We fought wars against Nazism and Communism.

We must fight wars against homosexual and abortion ideologies and against Islamic fanaticism.

In fact, they are already at war with us.  The phrase “you might not be interested in war but war is interested in you” is wrongly attributed to Trotsky, but it is nonetheless dead on.

During his trip to Georgia, Pope Francis made off-the-cuff remarks to priests, religious and seminarians in Tbilisi he spoke about threats to marriage (no, he didn’t talk about his document Amoris laetitia).

Pope Francis said today there is a “global war to destroy marriage” and that the “great enemy of marriage today is ‘gender theory'”.  This war is not “being waged with weapons but with ideas”.

Ideas straight out of Hell, designed to make life on Earth a hell and to take souls to eternal damnation in Hell.

At a Jesuit university in New Jersey, I have noticed the following official-looking signs placed on bathrooms around campus:
“GENDER NEUTRAL RESTROOM: Anyone can use this restroom, regardless of gender identity or expression”

“there is a global war to destroy marriage”

This from the author of Amoris Laetitia no less.

Here is an interesting posting about the alleged Trotsky quotation:

For a rough idea of what the not too distant future holds, I offer my remembrance of a cartoon from pre-WWII Germany. It was part of a display of this cartoonist’s work that was shown at St. Procopius College in the sixties, and no, unfortunately I cannot remember his name.

An androgynous character is standing perplexed in front of washrooms marked one for Herren the other for Damen. The title of the cartoon was, “The Ultimate Choice.”

When one reads an account of pre-War Germany and how Hitler came to power, it is usually about economics and politics, but it seems more accurate to think that the decadent culture of Europe of those days invited divine wrath. It is an invitation we are issuing with ever greater insistence.

After reading the following article from Life Site, I am reminded once again about the level of confusion that is coming out of the Vatican on gender theory (and other issues): https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pope-francis-calls-woman-with-sex-change-operation-a-man-and-calls-partners

“Then (the man) got married, he changed his civil identity, got married and wrote me a letter saying that for him it would be a consolation to come with his wife, he who was she, but him! I received them: they were happy…” What is the Pope “consol[ing]?” The use of that word in this context makes it sound like they went to the Pope to make themselves feel better about what they have done; i.e., if the Pope receives me and does not provide fraternal correction, then I don’t need to feel like I’ve sinned or change any of my behaviors/choices. Doesn’t inviting a transgender “married” couple to a private audience to essentially “make them feel better” about their continual state of mortal sin override whatever it is you’re saying, no matter how the media handles it?

The real devil – and I mean that literally – in the details of these meetings and off-the-cuff statements from the Pope is that he seems interested in corporal works of mercy, but not spiritual works of mercy. You don’t have to name call someone to instruct them that mercy is meaningless absent the context of God’s judgment and our natural sinful nature; and, especially if you are the Pope, to receive them for confession and counsel them AWAY from behavioral choices that lead them on a path directly to h-e-double hockey sticks, etc. (Poor hockey sticks – they get a bad rap!)

The Pope says, “Please don’t say: ‘the Pope sanctifies transgenders.’ Please, eh! Because I see the covers of the papers.” To me, it seems they were there for exactly that purpose. Absent any clarification from the Pope to note that he attempted to counsel them away from sin, what else can you call it? “Sanctification” seems an accurate term, regardless of whether he doesn’t want the papers making him look bad by printing, in reality, the truth.

This very much reminds me of today’s reading from 1 Galatians, where we are told:
“Am I now currying favor with human beings or God?
Or am I seeking to please people?
If I were still trying to please people,
I would not be a slave of Christ.”

I pray that the Holy Spirit intervenes and perhaps Cardinal Sarah, or someone like him, can be our next Pontiff. Because we need someone who is *clear* on these and other issues.
