For my part, I will today drive to La Crosse, WI for the annual canon law conference organized under the aegis of Card. Burke and held at the beautiful Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I look forward to this every year.

A couple of friends who haven’t gone to church in a long time might finally start attending again.
Our first grandchild was born on Sunday and all are doing well. Also, the seriously-ill newborn son of a family friend has been released from his hospital and is doing well. Finally, we have a new Bishop who is an improvement over our former Ordinary. An early example- when the former Bishop was installed, official portraits of him– of which each parish was expected to have at least one– were exclusively available by purchase for over $200 each. (the high-dollar photographer had to be compensated, I guess). The new Bishop’s communication- let us know what size you want and how many, and we’ll send them to you.
Yesterday, a Canon from the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest was officially installed as the pastor of the new TLM personal parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
In less than three months we’ll be having the first Solemn pontifical Mass followed by Confirmation in the EF since the reforms. Please keep the planning process in your prayers.
A project into which I put a lot of effort and time and creativity, and which required my learning a number of new skills in the process, turned out really well and got the approval of my boss, who tends to be negative and rarely says anything when you’ve done well. Not only that, but the head of the organization even liked it so much that he walked by my desk to tell me what a great job I did! That really made my day and was a much-needed morale booster. :)
The new priest at our Novus Ordo parish, with permission from the pastor, agreed to perform an Extraordinary Form baptism for our son. The priest seems happy to have the opportunity to use the EF and other couples have also expressed interest for their own children.
Our little FSSP Personal Parish in Nashua, NH is getting a THIRD priest! Started three years ago this month, St. Stanislaus is growing quickly, filled with young families and a quite a few of us geezers as well.
Must be something about that Tradition Thing that we were told would never catch on.

Wonderful to hear Bishop Hying regularly. Was touched by his love for Our Lady.
I recently found out that my favorite composer, Antonio Vivaldi, was actually priest, ordained at the age of 25. That fact really means a lot to me.
My wife had shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff a few weeks ago. It went well and the damage was less than we feared so she is well on her way to recovery. Prayers from many family members helped I’m sure. The only drawback is that while recovering she has been practicing her chess and now is way out of my league so I can’t play her anymore :(
My niece celebrates her 2nd birthday next week.
I have a new temp job….With hopes of it becoming permenant, I have a new hard drive in my computer and one of my favorite priests has been appointed as parochial vicar at my parish recently.
