Abbey to become a Harry Potter theme park

Holy Catholic Church is indefectible.  Christ promised that He would be with us always and that the Church would prevail over all the attacks of Hell.

He didn’t promise that the Church would survive where you live.

Keep that mind as you consider your own vocation and your own participation in the life of the Church.

From the site of the SSPX:

A Cistercian Abbey in Quebec Transformed into a Harry Potter Theme Park

The abbey of Notre-Dame du Lac was a Trappist abbey near the Lake of Two Mountains in the Laurentides. Founded by French Trappists expelled from France by the Republican laws of 1880, it was once home to 177 monks who lived their lives at the pace of the Divine Office, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and manual labor.

But since that time, the abbey has been emptied, another victim to the crisis of vocations, the conciliar reforms of the liturgy, and the adaptation of religious life to the world. As a result, the huge building that once housed an agricultural school was sold in 2007 to be transformed into an educational, cultural, and tourist center. The last monk, Brother John, left the abbey on March 28, 2009.

The former abbey is now about to be turned into a Harry Potter theme park, based on the series of novels that tell of the adventures of the young sorcerer.

For the tidy sum of $80, visitors can “experience a full-scale immersion class in sorcery. People will really have the impression that they have entered into the universe of Hogwarts and Harry Potter,” announced the Journal de Montréal in its May 26, 2018 issue. The sinister inauguration is scheduled for August 4.

The Irish Trappists are in a state of total collapse.
The Americans are not so far behind.
An accurate and earnest transmission of the authentic faith abandoned now for decades, what was to be expected? You can’t hear the call if you have not been instructed how to listen. Prayer jettisoned for notions and feelings, theology for theory, contemplative life and tradition is extinguished.
The Trappists have brought this upon themselves. I know of one community “contemplating” a new “co-ed” set up, ecumenical and interfaith, no less. A monastic spa.
    It is suicide.
But they see fit to suppress Mariawald?
The level of post-conciliar disorientation within the Trappists is beyond repair.

I could say a lot on this, but to keep it very short: Churches in Europe are being turned into pubs and night clubs. Around 2% of Catholics in France regularly attend mass. If you don’t think the Faith is in total collapse, you are living in La La Land. I will keep my views as to why this is happening private.

My friend actually owns the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe (cf. http://equalandforever.com/meant-to-be-the-first-same-sex-wedding-at-the-historic-chapel-in-santa-fe-new-mexico/) We go shooting, and he’s not for gay marriage, but there is so much pressure from the city since gay marriage is legal that he allows it to happen in this deconsecrated Chapel, which houses the “Miraculous Staircase.” But he’s not Catholic. I don’t know what’s happening. We could end-up back in the Catacombs.

The world hungers for mystery so much that they are willing to suspend disbelief and try to make a fantasy novel series become reality. While I have read the series, I know that it is make-believe, just like Star Wars with its Jedi warriors, and I know where reality ends and make-believe begins. Many don’t seem to have that basic filter on their perceptions. In this case, that quest for a magical experience will open themselves up to the demonic experiences which are very real and destructive.

The folly is man’s pride in his ability to master these powers which, by nature, are stronger than ours. Demons are fallen angels, and angels are, by nature, more powerful than Man. The only reason we can “beat” the devil is when we are in Christ. It is His power, not ours, that masters the demonic powers that exist. Once we start actually engaging supernatural powers via these nature religions, we fall prey to the illusion that we control these powers. We don’t. We are being baited into a false sense of omnipotence that leaves no room for Christ’s salvation.

It pains me to see people running to these nature religions in search of mystery when the Catholic Church has the best prescription for man’s desire for mystery and awe: the Traditional Latin Mass. Is it any wonder that many of the Potter spells are in Latin? They know this ancient, dead language quiets the soul and gives one a sense of timelessness and gravity. It IS reserved a special place, but that place is to honor Our Lord.

Now I’m going to get scary, and I’ve spoken to my Spiritual Advisor about this (a Priest who had been a corporate attorney and speaks five languages fluently–a brilliant man). Our world is in for a terrible judgment. Then Cardinal Ratzinger believed in Akita, the local Bishop Ito approved it. Both my Spiritual Advisor and I believe it’s not a matter of if but when the prophesy at Akita happens. “The living will envy the dead.”

An “immersion course in sorcery” in a former monastery. So instead of chant, the Blessed Sacrament, and blessings they’ll end up with incantations, potions, curses and spells, or at the very least the imitation. In other words, the apeing of Religion. This seems to go beyond a profane use straight to the sinister.

  6. iPadre says:

That what we get when we loose the true Faith. People don’t enter a Religious vocation. People don’t go to Mass on Sundays & Holy Days. People who should know better sell a consecrated property to people who will profane it. Better to burn the dam place to the ground. In talking with Mother Angelica once, she told of someone (I won’t say who, but you can guess), wanting to take over her network. She said: “I told them I would burn the dam place to the ground before I would give it to you.” We need more people with her courage in the Church today.

An excerpt from Jesus King of Love, 2nd edition, Imp. 1933,
“Every nation is worth what the family life is worth, for a nation has ever been, either in holiness or corruption, that which the home is. There has never been any exception whatever to this rule.

In this connection, I remember what a great convert once said to me: “Father, you cannot exaggerate the transcendent importance of the crusade which you are preaching. I know what I am speaking about: the Freemasons, of whom I was one for so many years, have but one single aim, and that is the de-christianizing of the family. Once this object is attained, in whole or in part, they may safely leave in the possession of Catholics all the Cathedrals, churches and chapels. Of what importance are these buildings of stone when they have taken possession of the sanctuary of the home? In the measure in which this sectarian strategy is successful, the victory of Hell will be secure. It was thus I reasoned, and for this I worked, Father, when I was in the ranks of Freemasonry.””

Through contraception, pornography, and vice they have destroyed many families in Quebec and this is the result. Jesus King of Love, reign over us! Thy Kingdom come!

Avoid the temptation, I believe brought on by evil itself, to proscribe fault to one council, one pope, etc..
As a student of history, one can look far beyond the protestant revolution to the roots of the demise of the faith reaching into the heart of western civilization..

    Malta,

    Cardinal Ratzinger never approved Akita.

    Isn’t Fatima enough?

  14. JonPatrick says:

Akita was approved by the local Ordinary, Bishop Ito.

On Feb. 27, 1978 Pope Paul VI approved the CDF “Norms of the Congregation for Proceeding in Judging Alleged Apparitions and Revelations” which stated that the local Ordinary has the competence to evaluate such apparitions.

According to EWTN “April 22, 1984 — After eight years of investigations, Rev. John Shojiro Ito, Bishop of Niigata, Japan, recognizes “the supernatural character of a series of mysterious events concerning the statue of the Holy Mother Mary” and authorizes “throughout the entire diocese, the veneration of the Holy Mother of Akita, while awaiting that the Holy See publishes definitive judgment on this matter.”

Also “Despite claims that Cardinal Ratzinger gave definitive approval to Akita in 1988, no ecclesiastical decree appears to exist, as certainly would in such a case. However, some individuals, such as former Ambassador of the Phillipines to the Holy See, Mr. Howard Dee, have stated that they were given private assurances by Cardinal Ratzinger of the authenticity of Akita. In any case, in keeping with the current norms, given the absence of a repudiation of Bp. Ito’s decision by his successors, or by higher authority, the events of Akita continue to have ecclesiastical approval.”

Fr. Jim, I hate to mention it, but the heart of evil reaches beyond western civilization, it attacks ALL human civilizations, because the evil originates (a) in Satan, who hates all moral good, and (b) in original sin, which infects men of every civilization. So, it affected the Egyptian, the Sumerian, the Mayan, the Incan, the Japanese, and the Chinese civilizations. And any others, too.

This is unfortunate. iPadre and Rich R: Good points.

In April the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, in the Teresa of Calcutta Hall, hosted two Harvard Divinity School graduates for a “Harry Potter and the Sacred Text” event.

    From the Basilica’s website:

“Join hosts of the popular podcast, “Harry Potter & the Sacred Text” for a live show at The Basilica. Harvard Divinity graduates, Vanessa Zoltan and Casper ter Kuile, will deep dive into a chapter of Harry Potter, tell stories from their own lives, and try-out a medieval religious reading practice with this modern day classic. Come and enjoy a night of live music, spiritual engagement…”
