Well it is already the 15th here in Australia and we are still here!! However, take Father’s advice, ‘Go to confession!’

“Apparently today is to be the End of the World”

    That was last Sunday.

  3. MrTipsNZ says:

Spooky indeed. We had a 5.7M earthquake here in Christchurch, New Zealand on the 14th and our much loved and brilliant Bishop, Barry Jones DD died on the 13th. Please pray for his soul, his successor and our diocese.

And I feel fine. (Holy Mass last evening, Stations of the Cross today [with 4″ of snow outside”])

    Plenary Indulgences are gooooood!

Thanks be to God…it was announced in a clip & not for real. I did not get to Confession this week…missed going yesterday…missed the Stations of the Cross Friday…& missed Mass & ashes on Ash Wednesday … all due to snow. Did make it to the TLM Mass today…Thanks be to God. Praying the Rosary is good…but it helps to have everything the Church offers us. And in my case…it is all needed…badly.

  8. It was for somebody. The Bear was defense counsel on many, many murders. Nobody plans on getting murdered. It was the farthest thing from the minds of the people the Bear viewed in crime scene photographs. Just ordinary people, most of them. The Bear suspects in some cases that they might have spent their day differently if they had known. But they didn’t. It happens a lot. And that’s not to mention heart attacks, car wrecks, plane crashes and the occasional Bear attack. (Do NOT assume a fetal position! Distract the Bear with fish.)

The Bear recently had a heart attack scare. Funny, his mind was on the next world the entire time. And he didn’t feel ready to be judged. What he wouldn’t have given to have had a confession more recent than three weeks. His sins loomed large. One day, it will be more than a scare.

  9. Bosco says:

    @St. Corbinian’s Bear,

Sound spiritual advice, Bear. I believe I’ll follow your future postings just to see what Catholic honey turns up.

  10. Brian Cannon says:

My uncle thought he was St Jerome

  11. WYMiriam says:

Well, if that news is really true, I’m glad I’m here at home on the homestead and not sitting in the bus station in Billings, Montana, as I was one day quite a number of years ago when the world was *also* going to end.

    Deo gratias!

  12. Nan says:

So last chance mass really was my last chance?

  13. JARay says:

Now, just how many times have the Jehovas’ Witnesses predicted the end of the world?!
On a rather more serious note though, Jesus told his disciples that no one knew when that day would be except The Father and he excluded himself from this knowledge. Now that has always had me perplexed since Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God and God knows everything!
Now I’m quite sure that Jesus was not denying his divinity when he said that!
    So!?
The only explanation that I have been able to offer to myself is that, well, Jesus does know when the end of the world will be but, that knowledge is proper to The Father and hence, not part of his concern and so he will not divulge that knowledge to anyone else! So stop asking when it will be because you will get no answer!

    Yesterday?

    Already too late!
