One year ago tonight…

… I saw my first cicindela of the season.
As Martial wrote:
Ancillam tibi sors dedit lucernae,
Totas quae vigil exigit tenebras.
Shall I see one tonight, I wonder?
I have seen wonderful vespertilliones at the appropriate hours.
