MS-13 gang recruiting among illegals flooding across the border

From Fox:

Border agents say violent MS-13 recruiting at Arizona facility for new Central American arrivals

MS-13 members are infiltrating a federal facility for Central American youths illegally entering the United States — trying to cross the border with criminal pasts and recruiting others to join the notoriously violent, California-based gang, sources tell Fox News.

Shawn Moran, of the National Border Patrol Council, said the gang leaders are recruiting pre-teens, as they typically do, and following the lead of drug cartels also trying to fill their ranks from among the estimated 57,000 unaccompanied youths and others who have come to the U.S. from Central America in roughly the past nine months.

He said agents have witnessed the recruiting at the Border Patrol’s facility in Nogales, Ariz., and that gang members are using a Red Cross phone bank there to “recruit, enlist and pressure” others illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

[…]

Texas state GOP Sen. Dan Patrick said earlier this week that roughly 100,000 illegally immigrants living in his state are gang members.

Sounds like it could be readily accessed “army” were some organization need to have muscle or some well-timed chaos in the streets, or even at polling places.

Planned chaos…in order to introduce martial law and the severe restrictions of freedoms in the USA. None of this is an accident…

Army? Do you mean a civilian national security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded?

  3. Bob B. says:

The 18th Street gang is recruiting too. It is considered the largest organized gang in Los Angeles County with about 15,000 members.

I was taught the order of importance is: God, family, country.

Jesus made it quite clear, in many instances that whatever we do to the least of our brethren, we do to Him.

My priest, in his homily, reminded us that these children are predominantly Catholic. That makes them part of our family. And, if we don’t want wolves prowling around as sheep to snatch them, then it should be us welcoming them.

The final four things: death, judgement, heaven, hell. I can only imagine Jesus’ reaction when we go to our judgement and we answer, “we needed to secure our border first.”

  5. Cantor says:

It’s hard to fathom how this “recruiting” is going on right in front of the security staff. People who’ve come through immigration before would have their identity on file, with links to gang activity. Even volunteers have to go through a standard fingerprinting and background check. If there are “recruiters” there, they must be newcomers themselves, meaning the gangs are actually recruiting the recruiters before they make it to the US? Something weird is going on here.

Not to mention the obvious question: if the border agents are observing the activity, what are they doing about it?

  6. danidunn says:

    @Cantor:

Border patrol is too busy looking out for boy scouts taking photographs.

    Cantor said-
“Not to mention the obvious question: if the border agents are observing the activity, what are they doing about it?”

The better question is–Why are they being stopped from doing anything by this administration?

Also–they have been quite busy changing diapers and babysitting instead of doing their job. Some would not even go home to their families because of the contagious diseases they are being exposed to. One that we did hear about tested positive for the drug resistant TB that is being brought in.
They have also been told not to speak to the press about what is going on. Fortunately some of this outrage is leaking out. There was a point when even Republican US Congresspeople were not let into the facilities where some of these illegal border crossers were put to see what was happening within the facilities. Why were they stopped -yet several Democrats elsewhere were not? Governors and law enforcement were not told when these illegals were being brought into their state. All of them are not “little” children as constantly repeated by the MSM and this administration. US citizens are not being protected.
Yes something is wrong and it is in Washington DC.

    colospgs said-
“Army? Do you mean a civilian national security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded?”
Kind of looks like a duck. Thugs from other countries brought in by drug cartels and then turned lose? Some of these “children” admit to having committed crimes in other countries-including murder.
Remember Obama released about 33 thousand illegals who were being held on criminal charges.
Where are they now if they know they will not be prosecuted in the US by this particular administration? I doubt they have jobs doing what “Americans won’t do.”

  8. incredulous says:

colospgs, thank you for reminding us that Obama promised us exactly that in a pre election campaign speech. Also, consider that Obama knew the military has ICBM’s and all sorts of weapons of mass destruction, that is quite a statement as to what he wanted his brown, I mean blue shirts to look like.

Here is a clip of Obama’s commitment lest anybody think you engage in hyperbole…

And yet we have prominent Catholic leaders such as Cardinal O’Malley of Boston who have photo ops with leftist politicians such as Mass Governor Deval Patrcik promoting the destruction of our laws, our borders and our sovereignty here on Earth.

These are the unaccompanied “children” our hearts are supposed to bleed over according to the self serving Democratic Victim-hood establishment and their lackeys in the Catholic church hierarchy.

Enough. We aren’t stupid. Father Barron at the LA Religious Education Conference told us all not to dumb down the faith. Reducing the immigration issue to a bumper sticker, i.e. “opening the border wide is compassionate, rejecting them is racist” is not an intellectual argument nor a way to actually tackle the problem. It’s anti Catholic not to use our intellect to solve the problem of ensuring that the dignity of the needy according to Christ’s teachings. However, that’s not what’s going on. Evil forces are using immigration to destroy this country and to forever disenfranchise the hated class, i.e. patriotic Americans.

Once we are Zimbabwe, the misery level of everybody will increase. Father Z’s link to “Correcting Catholic Blindness” was very interesting. The author pointed out that under recent experimentation in free economies and capitalist based markets, 850 million people have been lifted out of abject poverty. This IS the mechanism provided to us all to more than radically eliminate poverty. What other system can make this claim? Can even the Catholic church claim that in any 30 year period they lifted so many and provided so much corporal good? No.

Socialism and Marxism is a well demonstrated affront to the dignity of mankind. Capitalism does radical good. That’s borne by the facts which is what Catholics are demanded to use, i.e. the Truth shall set you free.

  10. Sonshine135 says:

This weekend, I saw a major protest in Boston on the news. Apparently, these folks were upset that Obama was going to be dumping some of these new arrivals up there. Good. In North Carolina, we have been dealing with the dumping of illegal aliens into our state for years. We are to receive 1,200 of these precious, new arrivals this week. It is about time someone else started feeling the pain. Why can’t we dump them in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island while we are at it. Also, Seattle, with their very high minimum wage. Let’s make sure they get good jobs and opportunities. Maybe we can get them government jobs while we are at it. After all, we know they just come here because they want to work. How is the invasio……er…..resettlement working out in y’all’s neck of the woods?

  11. Juergensen says:

It makes sense that a political party devoted to abortion and homosexulaity would countenance the utter destruction of our Christian culture; it makes no sense that the Republicans and the bishops would acquiesce.

  12. Reconverted Idiot says:

Meanwhile, US and UK media remain silent on the plight of Iraqi Christians, leaving it to ‘freedom-fries hating frog eaters’ in France (those who passed a secular law banning the muslim Hijab and veil from public schools) to offer them asylum.

  13. danidunn says:

Because a particular news organization (e.g., Drudge) chooses to use a particular image to to illustrate a story does not make that image an accurate representation of the story. If one were to follow the link then one would see images of children and not the picture Drudge used. Undoubtedly, the children are pawns in a bigger game.

To say that the children should not have come is one thing. To abandon them to the wolves is yet another. Christian charity requires us to help them (see Luke 10:25-37 for starters) and helping them does not require us to open the border. Those are two separate issues.

  14. LarryW2LJ says:

The problem with the immigration issue is that everyone reacts to it emotionally instead of on a basis of reason. Immigrants do have basic human rights, but a sovereign nation, taking in those immigrants, has rights and duties towards its citizens, also. And the nation from which the immigrants are leaving bears responsibility in this equation. These people are not leaving because of war or some natural calamity. They are leaving because their own governments and their own fellow citizens are not meeting their needs. Poverty can be addressed, but not if the people being charged with solving the problem are so corrupt that nothing get done except for a certain few lining their pockets at the expense of others.

Like any problem, the issue should be addressed at the source. Anything else is just like putting a band-aid on a cut that requires stitches. It will work for a little while, not very well, and it’s not going to cure the problem.

There was an excellent article on this in Crisis magazine. I wish I still had the link, I would post it here.

  15. moconnor says:

Politics aside, we share a lot of blame for all this. Both GOP and Dem administrations have been deporting MS-13 members to countries they’ve never known. Many didn’t even speak Spanish. What did we expect? They would all become subsistence farmers? MS-13 is an American organization. Guatemala and Honduras used to be poor but fairly quite – outside a few Marxists. Their gang problems are imported from the U.S. and exacerbated by pushing drug lords farther down Mexico. I wish I would hear more priests preaching against drug use, which is the source of all this. America needs drugs and the Southern hemisphere is just being capitalist about it. I will pray for these children and all affected.

  16. danidunn says:

And a priest, who chanced to be going down by the same road, saw him there and passed by on the other side….Which of these, thinkest thou, proved himself a neighbour to the man who had fallen in with robbers? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then Jesus said, Go thy way, and do thou likewise.

I get it. The man should not having walking down that road. He brought it upon himself. And, why weren’t the Romans patrolling that road to prevent brigands from attacking him in the first place. Where’s the border patrol?

The kingdom of heaven will not give entrance to every man who calls me Master, Master; only to the man that does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

I have a new commandment to give you, that you are to love one another; that your love for one another is to be like the love I have borne you. The mark by which all men will know you for my disciples will be the love you bear one another.

How much did Jesus love us? He was scourged for us and He died on the cross for us. And, we find it difficult to give some starving and lonely kids a meal and a place to lay their heads?

Homeless man in Maryland killed by MS13.

“The Mara Salvatrucha gang originated in Los Angeles, set up in the 1980s by Salvadoran immigrants in the city’s Pico-Union neighborhood who immigrated to the United States after the Central American civil wars of the 1980s.[8][9]
Originally, the gang’s main purpose was to protect Salvadoran immigrants from other, more established gangs of Los Angeles, who were predominantly composed of Mexicans and African-Americans.[10]”

It sounds like they certainly have hispanic roots–and they have evolved into something quite evil.
It seems like for America no good deed goes unpunished. We allowed Salvadoran immigrants in and because of that MS13 came into being. Those who are members of this gang coming over the border illegally should be sent back. I have never felt as unsafe in my own country as I do now for more then one reason.

The bishops are shocked that federal taxpayer money from this administration comes with LGBT strings. Really? Apparently protecting these kids is not the main goal of this gov. It is about LGBT rights.

  18. incredulous says:

Danidunn, stop it. It’s not like these children are fleeing an earthquake ravaged Port au Prince, or the killing fields of El Salvador of the 80’s. They aren’t fleeing Ebola decimating their population. Plain and simple, they covet our stuff, our country, our way of life, whatever. It’s purely an economic decision based on they want what we have. Covetousness and envy is not allowed.

The Catechism does speak to this with regards to immigration. Chapter 2241 ends with “Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

Respect our heritage. Obey our laws (not obey the laws after you disregarded the laws getting here). AND assist in carrying civic burdens. They are not to become civic burdens, then are to assist in carrying those burdens.

The bottom line is that this is an attack on middle class America by both the ruling elite specifically in the democratic party and by GOPe (establishment GOP). This is a cynical ploy by the democratic party to forever implement a rock solid socialist/marxist state with mind numbing dependency as far as one can see. It’s to turn the entire country into California where conservatives are completely disenfranchised in the country of their birth. It’s also disgusting power play which dis-empowers congress (the people) and establishes an emperor.

And what do RINO creeps like Linsday Graham, John McCain, Charlie Crist or the deceased Arlen Specter care anyway? They are really democrats and a few of them simply shifted parties at the right time.

We have a right to self determination as any people do including the Jews in Israel or the Palestinians. Period. The common good demands borders and an orderly process. We have taken in 7 million legal immigrants in 7 years which is substantial. What should the number be?

  19. Bea says:

Thanks, Bishops, for your misconceived sense of charity.
Thanks POTUS for the “change we can believe in”.

May God have mercy on us (not that we deserve it Americans (or crooked pollsters) voted for him).

  20. RANCHER says:

Having been a cop in Los Angeles when MS 13 had its beginnings I can tell you it has branched out far beyond its original “turf” and far beyond its original alleged purpose. It is one of the most violent of gangs involved in the drug trade, human trafficking, and murder for hire just to name of few of its “business enterprises”.
I can also tell you from my professional contacts as well as having several relatives who work for BP/ICE along the southern border that our federal agents have been ordered by the regime not to interfere with any of the free phone calls we are giving these illegals. Most of the federal agents, in fear of being fired, comply with these highly unethical directives. A growing number, however, remember the oath of office they took and are resigning rather than violate that oath. I commend them.
The pretender president took the same oath of office, one which he blatantly violates on a daily basis. He is well handled by the backers for whom he is merely a puppet with a teleprompter. They are, through this planned, well funded invasion of illegals implementing Cloward-Piven which will ultimately lead to economic collapse in this country. He and his Marxist brain trust have effectively compromised those of our Bishops and Dioceses who/which are either greedy or incredibly naïve or both.
What we are seeing now is the culmination of a plan launched by the U S Communist Party in 1938. Destroy the family, remove God from the public square, infiltrate the Catholic Church with homosexuals, and be patient. They were, if nothing else, patient and now their time is at hand. Left unchecked the descendants of this regime will drive out of this country, over time, Christians of all denominations much like what is happening in the middle east today.
And some wonder why those of us willing to fight, physically, this atheistic regime are prepping.
