MUGS GONE WILD 2

A priest reader from Down Under clued me to a photo on his blog.

He was getting ready to prepare a sermon, and needed to make some coffee.

Obviously priests write better sermons when they use a mug like this.

Good on ya!

[CUE MUSIC]

Are the sermons in your parish less than what you think they ought to be?

Get Father a new coffee mug and some Mystic Monk Coffee!

Those sermons will start to sparkle with wit, erudition and holiness in a jiffy.

Remember! Sunday’s coming up again soon. Give Father Mystic Monk Coffee!  It’s swell!

If anyone is wondering who the nun statue on the left side of the picture represents; it is Blessed Mary of the Cross (Mary MacKillop)of Australia, a nun who died in Sydney in 1909. Mary will be declared a saint on October 17 this year. She will be Australia’s first saint. She is a great intercessor. Her life story is really worth reading. I have put several knockout stories of her intercession here: http://missionbell.homestead.com/HelpFromHeavenBook.html

This man is clearly a Victorian, as evidenced by the AFL calendar in the shot, probably from Melbourne in fact!

  3. Jane says:

I have checked out his blog and it indicates that the priest is in Melbourne.

Well spotted Jane, that is a Statue of Blessed Mary of the Cross (MacKillop) there is a great piece on her, written by Fr Paul Gardiner the postulator of her cause that can be found on my blog http://apriestdownunder.com/2010/08/29/465/

I am clearly a Victorian, and a Melbournian, and the AFL Football team is Hawthorn, who lost their chance at winning the premiership this past weekend.

One thing that needs to be clarified though, is that for the next 3.5 days I am still a transitional Deacon.

I will be Ordained a Priest for the Archdiocese of Melbourne this coming Saturday with three other men.

I started the blog as a chronicle of my first year of priesthood

Please pray for me over the coming days, that I may be a faithful and Holy Priest.

    Rev. N Pearce

Rev. I will certainly be praying for you that you will be a good and holy priest. The archdiocese of Melbourne is in sore need of the likes of you. The Faithful are getting older and we would just love to see the true Faith return to our parishes before we go to the great AFL match in the sky. lol

    That is a beautiful crucifix.

congratulations in advance of your ordination.

  8. I brewed my first pot of Midnight Vigils Blend from Mystic Monks this morning. Its deep flavor without any bitterness is perfect on this chilly, blustery day!

Rev. I echo what was said above-congratulations in advance on your ordination!

Just think, you will be ‘a priest forever’ before Mary MacKillop is canonized next month! Very cool!

I like the picture of your desk-and I see Father Z’s mug!

I am so glad to see this. Congratulations in advance on your ordination. We will all pray for you, I am sure, now that you are famous the world over via Fr. Z.
