This is great news. Oakland and Sacramento have been blessed with good bishops. The Fresno diocese in California has two Latin Mass communities and I don’t think Bishop John Steinbock has ever attended one Mass in the extraordinary form.It is my understanding that bishop Steinbock recently declined an offer from the Fraternity of St. Peter for a priest to be assigned in Fresno, at the same time the push is on to train laymen, mostly laywomen to run parishes. Five years or less to go for a new bishop in Fresno….Oremus

  2. Bishop Vigneron is awesome.

The bulletin you linked to also lists two Dominican priests from the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology in Berkeley who will be preaching there as well.

  3. Yes, as Lawrence King notes, two of my brothers of the Western Dominican Province will also be preaching the novena.

The V. Rev. Fr. Richard Aquinas Schenk, O.P., S.T.M., will preach on St. Francis de Sales\’ theology of the Eucharist. And the Rev. Fr. Fr. Anselm Ramelow, O.P., will preach on his theology of the Trinity.
