As you know, the body of St. Mary Goretti is on “pilgrimage” around these USA. More HERE
She arrived in Chicago at St. John Cantius.
She will be coming to Madison, WI.
Here is the arrival of St. Mary in Chicago.
Remember that the folks at St. John Cantius have ready their 2016 Ordo.
Is St Maria’s body incorrupt, or are her bones encased within an effigy of her?
St. Maria Goretti, ora pro nobis.
@Back pew sitter: Her bones are encased in a wax statue. Her body is not incorrupt.
She’ll be in Columbus, OH on 21 October. We’re waiting patiently for her arrival at our Cathedral.
I was just at St. John Cantius on Sunday. Everyone at the Parrish was very nice and super excited about the arrival of St. Maria Goretti’s relics. Unfortunately my wife and I had to leave to go back home to Oklahoma, so we couldn’t stay. But she will be here in Tulsa on November 10th. Can’t wait!
I am so excited for this opportunity to visit her relics. I get to bring my family to Milwaukee to visit her relics this weekend. The kids enjoyed watching the video!
She will be in Milwaukee! I’m looking forward to this . . .
I saw her last week in Boston and it was wonderful. A display giving more info about her was set up too, and one thing I learned was that when Maria appeared to Alessandro in his cell 6 years after the murder, she was in a garden. She picked 14 lilies, one for each stab wound, and gave them to Alessandro. After that he had a major conversion and thereafter lived a holy life.
Coming to my parish on the 27th!
St. Maria Goretti will be at:
St. John Vianney Parish in Northlake IL on the 13th,
St. Francis of Assisi Church in Orland Park,IL on the 14th
St. Mary Immaculate Church in Plainfield IL on the 15th
Right, as noted above, the body is not incorrupt – the bones are inside of an effigy. I was there in Rome once to pray at the tomb, and am so excited she is here in the U.S.! What a great gift!!
I got to go twice this past week here in Detroit. There was a special talk given by Fr. Carlos for the school children, and our whole school joined other Catholic schools for that. Then I went to another church two days later. What a grace! Don’t miss this if you have any chance to go!
St. Maria Goretti arrives in Chicago the day before the Cubs win their first playoff series since 1908. Coincidence? Maybe she’s all they’ve needed these last few years. ;)
