LENTCAzT 2019 27 – Monday of the 4th Week of Lent: The Betrayer

These daily 5 minute podcasts are intended to give you a small boost every day, a little encouragement in your own use of this holy season.

Today is the Monday of the 4th Week of Lent. Laetare still echoes in our ears, but in the ancient Church the catechumens and the baptized, today, began their strict penance in earnest.  How are you doing with your Lent?  Go to confession!

Fulton Sheen explains something about Judas.

Along the way, you hear Tenebrae responses, one polyphonic by Carlo Gesualdo

and one Gregorian by the magnificent Choeur Gregorien de Paris.

I provide these especially in gratitude to benefactors who help me and this blog.

Thank you for these LENTCAzT’s, Father Z. These are becoming a part of my daily Lenten observance.
I find the commentary about the different station churches in Rome interesting. Venerable Archbishop Sheen’s observation about Judas was insightful, and a warning not to turn away from the “difficult sayings” of Jesus.

Thank you, Fr. Z., for all of your work on these podcazts. I’m still listening most every day. They are very well done, as always

I remember fondly my brief visit one evening to the stational church of today, on my one and only Roman pilgrimage. I was able with a friend to find it by walking up the Ceilian hill from St. Clements one beautiful evening and heard the sisters praying the office.
